March 8, 201016 yr A couple od weeks ago I downloaded and installed this scenery, made by Mateusz Stabryla and MK Studios. However, I seem to be experiencing very excessive shimmering of the ground textures. I wrote an e-mail to the author some time ago, but received no reply. I wonder if anyone else here has this scenery and has the same problem. All my other sceneries, about 150 of them seem to be fine so this would lead me to believe it is not my computer and FS setup, but would like to be sure. Ted
March 8, 201016 yr Yes, unfortunately it's a known problem with this scenery. Its developer did not add mipmaps to the textures, hence the shimmering.
March 8, 201016 yr Author Thanks for your very prompt reply, Rafal. At least now I know this has nothing to do with my setup. I suppose I'll be using EPGD or EPKK as alternate airports to EPWA.Ted
March 8, 201016 yr You're welcome, Ted.Expect a very nice EPKK quite soon. :( http://www.epkk.pl/This time no shimmering for sure.
March 8, 201016 yr Is there any way to add mipmaps to the textures?I find the only really noticeable shimmering is with the perimeter fencing otherwise there is little difference from other sceneries.Using FS9, LDS B767, E8400, Radeon 4870 1GB, 2GB RAMColin BPS How do you pronounce Okecie. I can't believe MS has got it right.
March 8, 201016 yr I suppose I'll be using EPGD or EPKK as alternate airports to EPWA.Before landing on EPGD, please be sure that you have correct AFCAD file for that airport. Otherwise you may expect a lot of missed approaches, due to the AI planes entering the runway before you leave it free after landing.I have found that problem with the freeware version of EPGD from Polish Airports Vol.1 set and it has been hapilly corrected by the authors.Kind regards
March 8, 201016 yr Colin, you can try opening each texture in DXTBMP, check the Mipmapping option and save.It may, hoevever, be a hard work due to the number of textures you might want to recompile.Good luck, anyway! How do you pronounce Okecie[ O-'KHAENT-SYAE ] - more or less, rather hard for the English. :( EDIT: I found something for you, Colin:http://www.forvo.com/word/ok%C4%99cie/
March 9, 201016 yr Author You're welcome, Ted.Expect a very nice EPKK quite soon. :( http://www.epkk.pl/This time no shimmering for sure.Yes, I saw that site about a month ago, and exchanged a few e-mails with Tomasz Brukarczyk, the author. If things go as planned we'll be flying to Cracow, using Tom's scenery sometime in May or in June, according to Tom. It's too bad that there is no news on the progres of EPWA from Drzewieck's Design. It looked very promissing, but apparently the final version may not even materialize. As far as the pronunciation of Okecie goes.. it's not too difficult. Bydgoszcz would be more challenging......... is there an airfield in Szczebrzeszczyn? :( Ted
March 9, 201016 yr [ O-'KHAENT-SYAE ] - more or less, rather hard for the English. :(Ej tam, nie ma problemu dla nas mowic 'Okecie' :( Rafal, is that Krakow still being developed? Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

Szcz is really just shch and most of us can say cash cheque without any probs. There are, however, many tricky words that, after 17 years living here in Poland, still cause me headaches :( Oh, and just to stay on topic, I had to delete EPPO because of the horrible shimmering. Shame really, but it was free so no complaints. Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
March 9, 201016 yr is that Krakow still being developed?Yes, like Ted already mentioned above. If no trouble comes in the way, we can get it before the summer begins. It will probably be payware but, of course, top quality (see the screenshots). As for Okecie, I'm afraid there is some kind of jinx about that airport in MFS.I do most of my short-haul flying over western Europe, but I would be delighted to land at a quality EPWA one day.Maybe Bruk (EPKK's developer) will think of making it one day. Who knows... :(

But I'd happily pay for a top quality payware version of both; if only someone could do it :( Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
March 10, 201016 yr Any idea if EPPK will be for FSX as well? Jacek G. Ryzen 5800X3D | Asus RTX4090 OC | 64gb DDR4 3600 | Asus ROG Strix X570E | HX1000w | Fractal Design Torrent RGB | AOC AGON 49' Curved QHD |
