  1. Tristan - how much did you pay for the Vancouver scenery? I got my completely free, right here on Avsim. Ok.. just kiddin'. I know what you mean how weird things can be. I used to visit Krakow quite often in my student days in PL. Warsaw is my home town. As far as Vancouver goes, it is the second, after Montreal, most beautiful city in Canada. When I was working for Canadian Airlines and then Air Canada I was in Vancouver at least twice a month. By the way - where are you going to be scuba diving in Vancouver? The waters around Vancouver, in the Georgia Straight and around the island are about as warm as in the fiords in the north Alaska passage. :PTed
  2. The scenery is just fantastic. :) I'll be doing a lot of flying from and to EPKK...There is just one think I cannot seem to find the solution to. At night, the runway lights, approach lights and other lights ave very, very bright red and yellow. As well the green and red position lights on the static aircraft are like two big globes. The very bright runway lights also exist on other Stanislaw sceneries.. EPLL., EPBY.. I tried several ways to make these lights dimmer.. different halo.bmp, Nick;s light fix, .. to no avail. Would anyone have any suggestions how I could make these lights darker?Thank you for any help..Ted.. and a very Happy New Year to everyone - Szczesliwego Nowego Roku to Rafal i Gavin.. :)
  3. Indeed, Stanislaw's sceneries are top notch; I do enjoy his Polish Airports Vol. 1 and 2 a great deal and now, will impatiently wait for the EPPK. I would really like to see the Okecie Airport done by him as well. If my memory serves me correctly, a few years ago he was apparently working on it. Don't know what happened...I know one should not look a gift horse in the mouth, but the EPWA FS9 scenery, by Mateusz Stabryla, is just average, and I would not mind having payware quality EPWA payware quality.Ted
  4. Perhaps it does work with The Spanish Inquisition, unfortunately it does not work with Scenery or Aircraft folders. I keep getting an error message, the Flight Sim will not even start. Ted
  5. Where, in your opinion, would be the best place to install FS9 add-on sceneries?Having just performed an upgrade / maintenance to my computer I re-installed the OS (Windows 7 64-bit) and the FS9 from scratch. I have three, 1TB WD Caviar Black HDs, each partitioned into smaller partitions. The OS is installed on the first partition of the first physical drive, FS9 in the first partition on the second drive. I have about 50 GB of add on sceneries, payware, freware. Previously all this scenery was installed on the same drive and the same partition where the FS9 was installed. I started to wonder if there would be any benefit to installing all this scenery on the third drive. My way of thinking is that perhaps it could be accessed faster, as it would be read separately from where the FS9 resides. Do you think there would be any noticeable difference in speed in which the scenery is loaded into memory? I'm running Win 7 64-bit, Intel Core I7 965 extreme, overclocked @ 4.0GHz, 6 GB RAM, Nvidia GT280. I'm far from being an expert in this matter by any stretch of imagination, therefore I'd like to know what you guys think. Ted - CYQL
  6. In an e-mail Bruk sent me some time ago he said that although the FS9 version is coming out first, after completing it he will be working on a FSX version as well. My understanding is that both versions will be payware; it's just fine with me, I don't mind paying for a high quality scenery- and judging from the screenshots on his site it looks like it's going to be another 'must-have' scenery addon.Ted
  7. Yes, I saw that site about a month ago, and exchanged a few e-mails with Tomasz Brukarczyk, the author. If things go as planned we'll be flying to Cracow, using Tom's scenery sometime in May or in June, according to Tom. It's too bad that there is no news on the progres of EPWA from Drzewieck's Design. It looked very promissing, but apparently the final version may not even materialize. As far as the pronunciation of Okecie goes.. it's not too difficult. Bydgoszcz would be more challenging......... is there an airfield in Szczebrzeszczyn? :( Ted
  8. Thanks for your very prompt reply, Rafal. At least now I know this has nothing to do with my setup. I suppose I'll be using EPGD or EPKK as alternate airports to EPWA.Ted
  9. A couple od weeks ago I downloaded and installed this scenery, made by Mateusz Stabryla and MK Studios. However, I seem to be experiencing very excessive shimmering of the ground textures. I wrote an e-mail to the author some time ago, but received no reply. I wonder if anyone else here has this scenery and has the same problem. All my other sceneries, about 150 of them seem to be fine so this would lead me to believe it is not my computer and FS setup, but would like to be sure. Ted
  10. I'm wondering too. Been waiting for it for a long time. A nice photoscenery of Warsaw would be nice as well.Ted
  11. Iain - thank you. I'll try it tonight after I get home after work. Ted
  12. I have all three UT series, Canada/Alaska, USA and Europe. I did, however, run into annoying problem with UT USA - it messed up the shoreline and the placement of buildings in Waikiki, Honolulu, HI. I tried many solutions - none seemed to work. Now, if I want to fly around Honolulu, I have to deactivate the UT USA. Has anyone else run into the same problem and has a workable solution?Ted
  13. I'm curious why Chinese people would love that?BTW - mine is 61 GB.Ted
