Some problems

I've spent a couple of days trying to make a video with FS2Crew for Maddog and a bit of confusion has emerged during that time.Firstly and this is probably a bit odd question :D , if you are not greeted by the FO when starting FS2Crew, is that indicative of something. I mean does that implicate that something hasn't been inititated correctly by FS2Crew and that troubles are incoming? During many of my attempts at making the video, I am often (not always) not able to proceede with the "before start check below the line". The gauge indicates with the asterisk that the "before start check" is complete, and the green text shows that the speech recognition has correctly interpreted my voice and should start the "below the line" checklist, but nothing happens.Sometimes the FO states that the "before start checklist" is complete but I still can't continue with the "below the line" and at other times, he says nothing but will respond correctly to the call for "below the line".These behavious occur also after I have shut down FS9, even rebooted the computer. But sometimes it will work correctly after I simply choose another aircraft and then load the Maddog again. I guess, one should always restart FS9 when troubles with FS2Crew occurs, but it takes such a long time to restart the sim that I will end up not using FS2Crew although I think it is an AMAZING utility! At this point it is very confusing what it is that breaks the functionality or flow of FS2Crew and causes correctly entered and interpreted voice commands, not to cause the appropriate result (and I am not referring to logical flow errors such as getting ground to perform push back when doors are still open). I realize it's probably plain impossible for you to give any sort of answer to it since there are so many factors playing in but I am just interest in your views! To connect with my first question, my woes occur whether I am greeted by the FO or not!And finally, as for my video! I did manage to get everything on "tape" only to realize that I shouldn't use the "mulit-channel" setting in Fraps for sound. Now sound isn't imported to either Premiere Elements, Sony Vegas or Pinnacle Studio 14 and I have to do it all over again.! Which I really don't mind! :D

Hi KristerHave you changed the default flight (one that loads initially when the flight sim is started) to something else? The original default flight is the Cessna at Seattle. When loading the Maddog, are you loading a saved flight or creating a new one from the main menu?banner_fs2crew_team_kk.png

Terve Kimmo!First, my default flight is unchanged so it's the cessna at KSEA.I load the default flight and when I stand there at the runway in the cessna, I change to my desired airport (ESSA in my case) and gate and then choose the Maddog with the SAS livery.I have also preconfigured the aircraft with the Maddog configuration and set up utility. The aircraft is then loaded in cold and dark mode, and I fire up the APU, connect the APU busses and the load the FS2Crew gauge by licking the left mouse button on the PFD, activate the CAB button and turns up the volume, then click the right mouse button to get the CFG gauge, set the pushback direction and lenght, enter the speeds and then press the START button.Sometimes I have also brought up the FS2Crew gauge (left clicking on the PFD) before starting the APU, but never pressing the START button first.Unfortunately I have tried it in so many different ways (restarting fs9 or just switching aircrafts back and forth, starting the APU and connecting power first and the leftclicking to bring up the FS2Crew gauge and vice verca, advancing with the Fast forward button) that I have really lost track if there is one odd way that consistenly works.Kids permitting I will try again tonight and make notes of how what I do at each attempt and what oddities I see!

Hi Krister,You mean "Pre Start Check" not "Before Start Check", right? What about the other checklists? Work for you? Also, Fraps can record audio input from a mic, too, but I think need Win 7.Cheers,
Yes, sorry about the confusion - indeed the Pre Start Check (I have the manuals and checklists at home).Yep, fraps works very well for recording everything in FS2Crew (I have a USB headset for the voice input and a Creative PCI-card for output), but I had "multi-channel" activated in the audio setup of Fraps. When I tried importing the avi-files to the video editors I mentioned I either didn't get any sound at all or I wasn't able to edit the video. Choosing "stereo" in Fraps did the trick, but when I realized that I had already made all the recording! But I will have another go at it tonight since it's so much fun and will later also put a VATSIM flight on into a video! To be seen on Youtube of course when it's ready!Regarding the other checklists, I would say they work although I haven't been allowed to test them at many occassions! There are some discrepancies between what you are supposed to read and what the FO reads back (it might say "set" in the checklist and he reads back "check" or you say "check" and he replies "checked" but, if I recall correctly, won't acknowledge if you yourself say "checked"). I don't know if it's supposed to be that way, but that's not the way it is in the 8-9 ITVV videos I have. If you want I can make a list of the things I find to differ!

ITVV videos: Remember that airlines do things differently from each other, so I wouldn't use the ITVV videos as a training guide for FS2Crew as the procedures/calls will be different.Your main reference for FS2Crew should be the FS2Crew manual. You've printed it out I assume? Please watch the FS2Crew videos created by Cyril:http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=276238Cheers,

Well, I am not talking about procedures per se and I have not mentioned ITVV being a training guide for FS2Crew... What I am used to from all videos I've seen, and that is very far from just ITVV, is that both PF and PNF are saying what is written on the checklist as the expected response. So to repeat , if the checklist says "set" that is what both PF and PNF will say, and not one saying "Checked" and the other "set" which is what happens in FS2Crew. But this is leading nowhere so I apologize for starting this thread..(come to think of it, the checklist I use is the one mentioned here: http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=278075 so I have to check first that it actuallly conforms with the one in the FS2Crew manual)(and finally! :D I did manage to make that movie, complete from Pre Start Check to landing but the Youtube-version weighs in at a respectable 2,5 GB and 20 min so I need to make some changes...)

Hi,I have these same problems also. The FS2crew recognizes the "pre start check below the line" but the FO does not read out loud the items. I'm not hundred percent sure, but when this happens, the FO will perform the actions. So it would seem that only "his voice" is lost somewhere. I don't know if it related but with my setup the FO voice sometis switches between my headset and my speakers. I have the fsx sounds coming from soundmax card and the FS2CREW i have selected to my headset (logitech usb). I also use Ivap and teamspeak so that the teamspeak output is to the usb headset. Any suggestions how to avoid this? My setup is xp 64-bit, fsx sp1+sp2. Thanks!

What about the other checklists? Are you using saved situation files or resetting your flight somehow. What about other FS2Crew sounds, like the Ramp Agent and Engineer... do you hear them?Best,

I'm starting this way: maddog setup -> start fsx -> load flight with cessna saved at EFHK (to get rid of engine sounds) -> select maddog -> and then after maddog powered -> open fs2crew. After this "jam" happens, no checklist will work anymore (or atleast the dialogs of the co-pilot have disappeared). This "jam" has happened with pre-flight check below the line and with climb check.Should I start Fsx and the maddog some other way? Or could this be fsx or xp-64 just loosing the sound of the copilot somewhere?
