March 26, 201016 yr I have the original version 1 of the Eagle Soft Cessna Citation X and was thinking about upgrading to the newer version 2 (Cessna Citation X Extreme 2.0) but after my research I believe that it is NOT compatible with Windows XP? Is this correct ? You have to have Vista or the new Windows 7?2nd part. I can not figure out how to make the version 1 fly a track-line on Auto Pilot.(I do NOT know how to program the FMC). The instruction manual does not say one way or the other. Thanks jerrycwo4

Thanks jerrycwo4Jerry, the FS9 Version of our CX2.0 should run fine on your system but to be truthful I haven't run WinXP for several years so can't help there. We do know that Win Vista 32/64 works as does Win 7 32/64.Drop over to our CX1.0 Forum for more on operation issues with the CX1.0 version. :(
March 26, 201016 yr Anyone want to comment on frame rates or any issue with this aircraft on XP32? Not that there is anything adverse happening here, I'd just like to know. I had been looking to acquire this add on and was simply wondering if I'd run into anything. Ron?Mark

Ron?MarkFrame rates are far more hardware/driver/settings specific than OS specific (unless comparing Vista vs Win7).You're kinda asking us to look into a crystal ball and predict something that's actually unpredictable. Especially since the most critical item (system specs) isn't even being offered up for 'inspection'. :( Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69
March 27, 201016 yr Yeah, I probably should have said something about my XP32 system but you could have also simply posted the minimum requirements and the expected frame rates at that minimum too, right? So defensive...The aircraft looks to be a fantastic add on. Just was wondering if I'd run into anything on my core duo 2.4 which I run XP32 on. Mark
March 27, 201016 yr I had the Citation V2 and I'm running XP Pro 64-bit. I didn't have any problems there, but I was having issues with CTD's all the time. There was also a lack of documentation explaining in depth procedures for the FMS and other things. They might have added more by now. I've recently upgraded my computer, but I first tried it out on a Athlon FX-57 processor and GeForce 7900GTX and 2GB of RAM and only had a slight hit in frames with small stutters every now and then. I'm sure it would be fine on yours.Hope this helpsRobert Robert J. March 27, 201016 yr Thanks Robert! I figured it would probably be OK. I've got a couple of the Eaglesoft aircraft and don't have any issues with them. In fact, they're some of the best aircraft that I have. I'm running an older XP32 system but I have 4gb of ram and a Radeon 4870x2 so I wouldn't expect anything to extreme.Ed or Ron or Bill...do you provide any documentation, (worthwhile), on the FMS these days or do we have to go after market? Please advise and thanks!Mark
March 27, 201016 yr Commercial Member The real-world FMS document is a 14mb PDF file and not something we can provide due to proprietary ownership by Honeywell. Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69

Step into the FSX forums... read about frame rates... notice how people with near identical systems get completely divergent frame rates. Show me a consistancy... I've never found one myself. Many people running FS9 are doing so because their system isn't very powerful but works for FS9.I couldn't possibly predict how it will run on your system and am not about to. Sorry you find my honesty defensive. Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69

Sorry you find my honesty defensive. Its cool...I figure you probably get hammered every day by things that you eventually find out are not something that Eaglesoft, (or you), is responsible for. You see, I've also written a bunch of software over the last 27 years too :)MarkEdit: By the way, do you happen to know where one can get a copy of that Honeywell doc?

March 27, 201016 yr Can't we buy one if we want to? I mean, there's gotta be a Pilot's Flight Manual for it or something that we can buy to learn it's operation.Mark
March 27, 201016 yr Commercial Member You can try and convince Honeywell to sell you one... but I wouldn't hold my breath. Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69

These days there are way to many variables for us evaluate or to even guesstimate what users can expect with a given product. What we do offer is a refund policy which allows users to evaluate our products for 30 Days and if they experience FPS loss, obtain a refund.Further to your point, a look at the recent CX2.0 Review which earned an Avsim Goldstar Award should help you understand the results with the 2 systems used in that review. :(

Please advise and thanks!MarkMark, I just checked and we provide fifteen PDF Documents and links to six You Tube FMS Programming 101 Videos by our real world Citation X Pilot who has been a consultant on this project for about 2 1/2 years now. In addition, there are links in our docs to Smart Cockpit.com which is another source for users to download additional documentation. Our documents include example flights but that is where we draw the line. We will not provide step by step flight tutorials or trsaining past the afformentioned videos and documents. The real world flight training and type training is expensive to say the least and for us to condense that training and offer it to users is too expensive in terms of time for us to do. :(Edit: By the way, do you happen to know where one can get a copy of that Honeywell doc?Mark, as Ed said, we won't be offering any Real World Manuals but we do suggest a look at Smart Cockpit.comThey are a valuable source for flightsimmers. I can't imagine how Eds remarks could be taken as " defensive" when he was clearly being honest and helpful.:(
