March 27, 201016 yr What causes planes to spin in slew mode? I've recalibrated my joystick, but planes still spin at times. How can I stop this?
March 27, 201016 yr Probably too small a null zone on one of your controllers. I'd reassign that control to a key in FS if it persistsAl Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

March 27, 201016 yr Author Probably rudder axis...I'm using a MS Sidewinder Precision Pro. I tried a 2nd one with the same results. I tried adjusting the null zone for rudder axis in Settings too. I'm using Win 7 64-bit if that matters.
March 27, 201016 yr What usually causes this is there is a slew assignment that you didn't make. Go through the control menu in the slew mode and see if there is any other controller listed with a slew assignment. If so, delete all slew assignments for it. For example, do you have a throttle lever assigned in slew? Or, is the throttle on your joystick assigned? Hope that helps. "A good landing is one you can walk away from. I deleted all the slew settings for this wheel that showed up under FSX. So far no more spinning - thanks.
March 28, 201016 yr I find it best to disable ALL controllers in slew mode under the "Controls" menu and simplyuse the keypad to slew. That method does not suffer from uncommanded motion andit is much easier to position your aircraft with the keypad keys. Paul
