Settings for ATI Catalyst Control Center

Featured Replies

Hello:I am trying to get the best performance from an older ATI card, X1900GT, before I upgrade to a new PC. I am using catalyst version 9.3 drivers and experiencing frequent "display spikes and artifacts' on both FS2004 and FSX. All of my 3D settings on the catalyst control center are currently default. Can anyone offer any suggestions on settings that might reduce or eliminate my display problems? I am considering going back to an earlier driver unless someone has some suggestions. Let me know if I should post this problem in the FS2004 and/or FSX forums also. Thanks for any help or suggestions!Airbus

Digital Storm purchased 8/17/2011; Win7x64: Asus P8P67 Deluxe; Intel i7 2600K@3,9 GHZ; nVidia GTX 560Ti; 8GB DDR3 1600 Corsair Dominator; Power Corsair HX 750W; Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD; 300GB WD VelociRaptor; 1TB Seagate.

I just tried the same thing using an old X1950 I had as a second video card to drive a 4th monitor. ATI no longer supports that series of card with drivers and migrated to a "generic" driver set for them embedded in the catalyst software. I couldn't find any other drivers on the net, so if you still have the original Catalyst install disk, I would uninstall your card, wipe the drivers and use that original install disk to reinstall your X1900 card. See if that helps. I didn't have much luck but give it a try . . . EDIT: BE SURE you wipe the drivers from your current install before reinstalling using something like driver cleaner pro!

Count me in - I do have very similar problems and I have probably an even older X800Pro. I tried numerous legacy drivers (Catalyst, Omega, etc.), configurations of my XP (including reformatting) and trying to recreate my PC the way it was say in 2006 or even earlier when it arrived brand new, and got absolutely nowhere. If you find anything that solves your problem - let me know but I feel it may be a dead end street for us.
