Do a search, and find these two (2) .dll's1. The VISTA version of: UIAutomationCore.dlland...2. msvcr71.dllPut BOTH in your root FSX folder. Your freezes should thaw out....

hey mate im running w7 64bit, where can i find those 2 file?

I do not want to hijack a post, but is UIAutomationCore.dll responsible for crashes when using menu? Only for this? I have readed some topics on forums, basically it is almost always connected with this particular library.I do have similar symptoms - no mouse input, no keyboard, system hangs (not only FSX) and sound is repeated pretty fast. Also running Win7 64bit but had the same at Vista 32bit.

If FSX crashed, there should be an event of the crash. Did you check the Event Viewer to see what caused the crash? It could have been caused by one of the addons, a video card driver, or sound card driver. I have seen FSX freezing except for the sound before. The event viewer log will probably show a sound card driver as the fault.Best regards,Jim

The UIAutomationCore.dll file is within the system32 folder on your system - If you do a search within you windows folder i.e. C:\windows, it should come up with it.The same goes for the Msvcr71.dll file, this should be in your syswow folder - again run a search and you should find it.

If and when FSX crashes go to your control panel and open the administrative tools, under the applications listed you should see event viewer, all i then do (and there may be other mays of doing this) is open the windows logs tab on the left and select applications. This should then load a list up of items that have occured through an application. If you know what sort of time (approximately) the error occured then you can simply find it from the list and then by selecting it, it should tell you what went wrong. Im sure if you post the read out on this forum somebody can tell you - if you are unsure yourself of course.Hope this helps.Tom

Just to edit my previous comment - the UIAutomationcore.dll file needs to be the Vista 32-bit version so if you are using any other version of windows you will need to find it from the internet or this thread - http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=280688

HI thanks for info just tryed it and froze during the climb when i clicked on the menu up the top, nothing in event logged i still need to find those 2 files "UIAutomationCore.dll and Msvcr71.dll file" and put them into the fsx folder ill do that and let u know cheers

I'm not overly sure how msvcr71 helps but uiautomation should do the trick. Also if you find that you ate losing textures there is a new fix out that fixes this it is 99% effective. There is a thread in the pmdg forum about it.Tom

I've seen a lot of "solutions" with the uiautomationcore.dll. I have Windows 7, 64 bit and have never had a fsx freeze or issue with FSX since installing it. How come I'm not getting crashes too? I'm guess I'm just lucky and need to wait my turn but, when I do get the CTD, I'll know what to do! (Just trying to say a joke). I did do a clean installation of Windows 7 though and maybe that's why I'm so "lucky".Best regards,Jim

Well, I seem to be the unluckiest guy on earth then.I think my rig should perform better than it does. It keeps crashing even with those dll'sBesides (and sorry cause this is totally OT), there's those anoying flashing textures all over the place all the time. Also textures take ages to load: there's a circle around the plane beyond which everything's blurry and the autogen objects pop up in a way that screws the looks of it all.I have a long way to go with my config yet :(
