April 10, 201016 yr Ultimate Terrain isn't actually textures (as I understand it), it just places towns, roads, railways etc in the correct spot on the globe. Towns and cities are now their correct shape instead of being a generic blob of houses, and the night lighting is much improved as well, so major roads stand out much more than a suburban street.I use all the Ultimate Terrain packages, GEPro2 for the textures (so yes, you can use both without hurting each other) and REX2004 to get the skies looking purty (driven by ASV6.5).If you're serious about giving FS9 a facelift, try Zinertek's Ultimate Water Advanced and Airport Environment. They're both relatively cheap (around US$10 IIRC), the water one has my favourite water textures, and the Airport one replaces all the default airport textures with much better looking buildings, towers, etc. It also does runway markings and textures, but I still use REX for that.Cheers, SLuggyWhile GE-Pro2 is mainly the ground texture replacement package, UT also replaces some textures, (Ie: Road, railroad, beach, and some waterway textures.) April 13, 201016 yr Hmm... I recently bought Ultimate Terrain Europe for FS2004. Before, I was already using REX and GEPro and enjoyed very nice graphics. Since I added UT the little bit of smooth performance and eyecandy completely collapsed. Even when flying at 120 knots with a cessna the graphics become less sharp and when flying a jet, it became completely blurried. In the best case I get to see something like this:When I pause the sim for 30 seconds or longer, it becomes better again:I know I'm playing FS2004 on a piece of antique, but I never imagined that UT could have such influence on it :(Considering my specs I assume it's no wonder? Are there any tricks to load textures faster to keep the graphics the way they were on the previous screenshots I posted?FS2004 is located on a separate partition with less than 0.05% fragmentation thx to O&O offline defrag at reboot. My system consists of:AMD Athlon XP 3200+Epox 8RD6A+ Pro2GB DDR3200Geforce 6600GT (AGP)4x 250GB SATA @ Intel SRCS14L RAID5 controllerWindows 7 / Ubuntu 10.04 b
April 13, 201016 yr I am currently using REP, GE PRO, Ultimate Airport Environment and UTUSA and everything works fine. On my old computer I assigned a key to refresh the scenery. The refresh key updates the image and removes the blurries. REP is a good addon for a slower computer; GE PRO was the pre-currsor to to GE PRO II; Ultimate Airport Environment appears to be the next generation of AEU 7 & 8.Although I purchased UTUSA for my older computer, I never really used it. UT takes some processing power. The manual tells you where to place your sliders for the softwares best performance, but I kept moving the sliders further to the right. I eventually remove the software from my system. Now its back and it makes a positive difference to the overall enjoyment of the sim.Tom

April 13, 201016 yr Refresh key? Ouch ^^' I wasn't even aware of the existance of such a function, but I don't think it will help. When I get sharp textures again, it's only flying a few miles before it's a blurry soup again.So... Running updates could solve this problem? Can you also download them with boxed versions?
April 14, 201016 yr Ok ... Updated it from 1.0 to 1.10, 1.11 and now 1.20 (latest version for UTX 2004 on their the website). I used the configuration assistant and selected best performance and more scenery instead of autogen. It looks better when I slew over the region. I'll try a flight soon. Gotta get back to 日本語の勉強 now :(
April 19, 201016 yr Blurries and UT is a known issue (I faced it myself)one simple question:does fscene X overwrite any textures which belong to UT,GE PRO or Fsglobal, or different thing?

I'm at uni now and have to means to test it until the weekend ^^"But I noticed no improvement when flying my airbus from London to Edinburgh. At FL310 it was really horrible. It looked like FS95 or something like that :(
