April 9, 201016 yr Hi all,I was just wandering what all of you PMDG pilots do on a long flight ( assuming most of you are on VATSIM ) while the autopilot is on. Flights can be as long as 40-1hr but others can be 3-10hrs long. So when sitting there watching your plane what do you do to pass the time.ThanksEdward

April 10, 201016 yr Hi Edward, i have said this before and i am saying it again, to cut out the boredom of flying long haul, which i know has its place in flight simulation, the best thing to do is fly short flights of 1 - 3 hours, which will result in keeping you busy and get sufficient variety into your enjoyment. All the PMDG aircraft can be used and cope with these variations in time scale. give it a shot. richard welsh. Richard Welsh
April 11, 201016 yr Well, I drink beer or bourbon, fix a couple of other peoples' computers while listening to 'shuffled renditions from my huge collection of Robert Zimmerman music. If it's a 'long haul', by the time I reach my destination the landing is pretty generally, woeful. :-)Jon Shearer
April 12, 201016 yr When we were beta testing the MD11, I'd sometimes get up early, kick off a SFO-HKG sector, then go to work and be home to fly the last 5 or so hours over Japan, Taiwan and into VHHH. I'm mostly all about the 0.45-3.00 length sectors now tho. If only someone would make a 737NG...EDIT: @Jon, if the flight in question is around sunset (and with REX), I might open a beer and enjoy the one perk our real-world equivs can't! Mark Adeane - NZWN
April 12, 201016 yr haven't flown any longhauls for a while - still learning to get ready for my first vatsim flight (since months - lol), but for any flights where nothing great to do i'll check the iTunes Store for new music, play guitar or check the arrival/approach charts for my destination airport. Best regards,
