msstdfmt.dll error

Featured Replies

Hi JD,I followed your instructions for the error 713.the problem is that after I followed what you said,i have a message saying:"the module msstdfmt.dll failed to loadmake sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DDL filesthe specified module could not be found."Can you help me?thanks

For VISTA and Win 7 users the FAQ is outdated. The correct procedure is in the pinned thread at the forum top. Be sure you are logged in as an admin and as explained start the cmd window as an admin using the suffix. Be sure you have placed the .dll in the correct folder before running the registration procedure. Remember that you must be logged in as an admin to get access to these folders for placement. Verify that the .dll is in the correct folder before running the registration procedure.Be sure also you run RC directly or with a shortcut with properties set to run as an admin.

That is a common error and easy to fix. Btw...it is explained in the Radar Contact FAQs:If you do not find msstdfmt.dll go here http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/suppo...me=MSSTDFMT.DLL and download and install the libraryfiles.exe program

thanks!!! i had some trouble because the link in the sticky to the ms version of vb6 runtime gives you an installer that doesn't seem to work under win7x64 . however, the file in your link did extract the files correctly and i could then register the dll's as outlined in the instructions.maybe your link could be added to the sticky!cheers,-andy crosby
