I want to improve my sim set up...

Featured Replies

I am looking for ways to improve my desktop flight sim configuration. I am trying to find sites that can assist me. I don't want to spend the kind of money I can use to pay for actual flight lessons! For example, I am looking to find ways to stop my chair from sliding away from my pedals. Reconfiguring my yoke and throttles would also help. What kinds of key words would I put in to get the best results? Flight Simulator and Flight Sim and Home Made Sim are not giving me the results I want.Any suggestions with key words would be greatly appreciated.

I saw a youtube video from a guy that mounted his rudder pedals on a piece of plywood. Then he cut a small hole in the plywood that he rolled one of the casters of his chair into. This simple method stopped his chair from rolling away from the rudder pedals yet still allowed him to move the chair around normally for non-sim operations. If I can find it I will post a link to it here.regards,Joe

That site is rogerdodger aviation or something like that - just "google" it. He has some brilliant and cheap ideas. Another place to try is mycockpit.orgBill

For your controllers I use FSUIPC and wouldn't have it any other way. Be sure to use the correct version as there ae two, FS9 & FSX. Also purchase the registered version for maximun benefit.http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmlJim D.

Also try "mycockpit.org". Lots and lots of stuff there.Bill

I have my 5 castor chair on top of a thick "doorway" mat/rug which is on top of my flat carpt and when I set on the chair it kind of "sinks down " into the rug and my chair does NOT push back when I'm using my rudder pedals. jerrycwo4
