ThanksJ T CoolinsGEX North America is an updated version of Ground Environment X USA/CAN and GEX Europe has been updated but is still called GEX Europe. They are sold seperately, so if you only fly in North America buy that one or if you fly in both North America and Europe, buy both.Everything you can possibly need to know can be found on their forum here: http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_topics.asp?FID=38 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
May 7, 201016 yr Thank-you Sir, I posted on that forum, still no reply. I seriously think AVSIM is the best forum. May 7, 201016 yr Moderator I posted on that forum, still no reply. You did? I looked on their forum and see no unasnwered post regarding that. Did you post in the right section?I like Avsim also and sometimes questions can be answered faster here just because I would imagine there are a lot more viewers on Avsim at anyone time than on other forums. In all fairness though, Simforums is really good to in responding to questions regarding the products they support. Sometimes it may take just a little longer to get a response. May 7, 201016 yr It's a shame GE Pro for FS9 cover the whole world and the options for FSX cover regions. FSX needs updates the world over and it's a shame there's no options for that (unless I missed something). I do a lot of flying in Brasil (Rio and Sao Paulo) and noticed that I had a new set of ground textures after I had installed GEX Europe. Worked out good because I fly in South America more then I fly in Europe. Same happen when I was flying in Central America. The good part of having regions, rather than having on set for the whole world like they did in FS9, is that they can customize them more for each region. Altough the bad part of course is how long it takes them to produce a new set for a new area.SO let me get this write. When you buy it from Flight1 it should now come as GEX North America. Otherwise if you own the older version then you have to download and install the update. But I agree the rest of the world does need texture updates. They also need proper Ultimate Terrain coverage too!
May 7, 201016 yr HelloI really liked GEX USA, but I bought GEX Europe last week and can not bring myself to like the coloration at all.Nothing at all like most of europe, the greens used are not even close and the 3D effect is way over done.Looks somewhat better the further south you go, but for United kingdom and north western Europe it does notlook right.I really wanted to like this one but I am not convinced at all
