I can tell you first hand, an add on is only as good as the flight model specs for it. If the X plane BAE can climb to 42 000 feet, it means the critical altitude that has been set for it in planemaker is too high. There are many factors that determine an aircrafts performance in x-plane. It's not as automatic as some people think. Yes, you can choose to go in planemaker and throw in some numbers and "Presto". You got an add on. But there are MANY other factors involved. The critical altitude is determined by going through the appropriate charts and using the proper figures. Now, with regards to the freeware 737. For what it is and what has been programmed into it, I would not say it's a POS as another poster did. Case in point, the above mentioned MU-2. Also, the Falco by the same developer. Even the payware I'm making (and selling through the same online store as the MU 2) can take weeks to make an accurate flight model for. The 3D mesh and texturing is another story. The CRJ will set the bar for all future x plane add ons. What has been done with it and what they are still doing with it will blow peoples minds. Study sim? Absolutely. So much so that it will rival and even surpass the top FS9/FSX add ons. Goran
As I said, I know a good developer for X-Plane is capable of making a decent flight model, and yes the Falco is one of them, but all the airliners I've seen so far do not. It bothers me that the attitude of X-planers is, that if you build a good model you will automatically get a realistic flight model, then proceed to show you a video of a 777 doing loops in the sky, to prove it. The better developers like yourself know it's not that easy, but most of the good ones so far are only developing GA. I'm hoping the CRJ will break that trend, and really bring some real heavy metal to the party! (Well not really heavy, but it's a start. :( )

Thanks

GA's are easy to make. Well, easy meaning it took me 2-3 months to make my one. Stop by the x-pilot forums. I've teamed up with a few people to make a 747-200/400 package. The -200 will be ready some time within the next 8-12 months. The -400 some time after that. There is also a high quality 737 being made by another developer. But as you say, the CRJ will be the first high quality heavy that will break the quality barrier.Goran

Hi quality 737? Are you trying to make fun of us?

Hi quality 737? Are you trying to make fun of us?
Why would I be making fun of you?I'm certainly not trying to sway you from microsoft. By all means, continue flying the PMDG 737. I have all their add ons up to the 747-400. I never bought the add ons they made after that as I thought the price was not reasonable for what they offered.I guess there's no point showing you a current "high quality" work in progress set of screenshots of a 747-200 and -400.If you ARE interested in seeing current work in progress, I will gladly direct you to it. CheersGoran
