May 23, 201016 yr I was down at the FBO today (KOPF), and saw some FSX favorites in real life, so with my handy but puny Iphone camera I got some stills...Everyones favorite 4 seater BonanzaI think this is a DC-6 and the only flying one leftagain I think this is an IslanderAnd of course the Beechcraft that needs no introduction, I got much higher frames with this one...
May 24, 201016 yr Nice shots! Especially the DC-6 that's a rare one now. And to identify the plane that resembled an Islander it is actually an Aero Commander 500, a revolutionary aircraft for it's time.
May 24, 201016 yr Cool shots - nice to see a BE60 - not many of them around today. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
June 10, 201015 yr Moderator Neat pics. By any chance have you ever flown in or out of North Perry? The other day I drove past it and saw what looked like an older 727 parked at a terminal on the North side of the airport. I couldnt see the paint job and was wondering how they got the plane in there. I didnt think that North Perry had a runway between the four of them, that was long enough to land a jet that size. June 10, 201015 yr Author Funny you ask, my CFI asked me the same question..Turns out the plane was brought there on trucks, in pieces and assembled, it's used for training flight crews.
June 10, 201015 yr Moderator Funny you ask, my CFI asked me the same question..Turns out the plane was brought there on trucks, in pieces and assembled, it's used for training flight crews. After I posted that question I went to MSM maps and was looking at that airport using Birds Eye View and Google maps and saw in some pics the 727 was painted in FedEx colors and the tail is missing, then in other angles its put together and repainted. Makes sense that it was trucked in. In fact in one of the Google or MSN maps it shows it sitting on a truck. I wonder what kind of training they use it for?BTW check your PM box in a few minutes, I have something you may want. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
