It looks like I've missed the boat on grabbing a good quality GTX285 (anyone know where I can get these in the UK or anyone who ships to the UK???) so I'm considering a GTX470. Would I have a more balanced Q9650 system with a GTX285 however?

I would get the GTX 470, it is cheaper than the GTX 285 in most cases.

Thanks, but they, like all the other retailers I've looked up, only have the standard speed cards. Anyway if I had to choose it would be between the Asus or Zotac stock speed cards... any thoughts from anyone on which to go for?

I'm just not convinced that an Intel Core2Quad processor is a good match for an Nvidia GTX400 series card, but I'm not planning on upgrading to an I7 system anytime soon.

I just went from an EVGA GTX285 to an EVGA GTX470. Right now, I'm less than impressed. I'm going to give it some time as some of this may be due to adjusting my settings in FSX. I better make it work as I have already sold my 285.

Thanks for your reply. Is the performance actually worse? Please tell me more about what sort of flying you do and what Nvidia or Nhancer settings you have. When I hear comments like yours it makes me wonder if perhaps the GTX470 is essentially a more resource hungry GTX285 with Fermi architecture???Does anyone have any thoughts about the GTX475? Django, I wouldn't say it's worse. The frame rates are comparable. It's just not leaps and bounds above what the 285 was. I would say it's somewhat smoother and the image quality is sharper. As I said, it may be a matter of me adjusting my settings in FSX and some of my other addons.I'm using the latest Nvidia drivers, so Nhancer will not work.
