June 28, 201015 yr Have you tried checking if there are any upgrades to the FSX versions free or for a small fee. Thanks for this tip I think FSX may be making a dent in my wallet soon :( But now I finally have that excuse to switch to ASE!For what I know, adding 2 GB is good BUT... make sure the supplemental 2 GB sticks are exactly the same models as the old ones. Even better replace your 2 x 1 GB sticks with 2 x 2 GB sticks. The specialists in hardware in this forum will tell you that using only 2 memory slots gives a better result in speed than using the 4 memory slots. I don't have the experience to back up this statement but the experienced users in hardware will confirm this. What DDR2 RAM would you suggest purchasing? I'd like to find a specific manufacturer that has high quality RAM if I'm going to replace the two sticks currently in my computerI think some of the Carenado planes will work but BE ADVISED, you will suffer a performance loss because they are not native FSX models (models compiled/created via SDK standards, just trust me when I say always buy native FSX planes)How much of a loss should be expected? I can already sense I'll be buying new native FSX planes immediatelyThanksAlex

I have to say that I predict FS9 being uninstalled within the next two years. My frames are ~45 with defaults set to what Nick has. I'll begin to feed in the addons slowly and see what happens.I do have one remaining question about joystick configuration. My Saitek Aviator 02 used to be able to use the hat switch to pan and a small button on the bottom to work the elevator trim. In FSX panning does not seem to work as it did in FS9. Does anybody know about this?ThanksAlex

Does anybody know about this?Might want to try manually setting up the hat switch in FSX control preferences. The hat switch certainly should pan the views in FSX, it definitely does so with my Saitek Cyborg EVO stick. I have manually put the elevator trim on that stick too, and that works okay.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

But for now I would have to say I am very happy with FSXAlex

Plus it has better receiversThe clip is 40 bucks I think but I'd get the TIR 5 bundle it comes with ithttp://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/02-pro...ckClip-PRO.html | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

As for looking a fool so what but I usually take my hat off before leaving my computer room/study. :( John Rig: Gigabyte B550 AORUS Master Motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT CPU, 32GB DDR4 Ram, Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Graphics, Samsung Odyssey wide view display (5120 x 1440 pixels) with VSYNC on.
