Why did Microsoft only give us the float version of the wonderful Beaver and not the wheeled as well? The amphibious would have been the obvious choice with far more flexibility in FSX. :( Is there a good FSX version of the wheeled DCH2 around with a 2d panel, there are some commercial ones but only with a VC or has anyone considered modifying the default float DCH2 and giving it wheels?

I know there are people who have modded the cfg file to give it wheels. However it still won't have them in the external model.The Aerosoft Beaver is still a very nice addon, despite its age. If you really want a 2D panel with it, just use the default's 2D with it. However bush flying is really boring in 2D...

I also love flying the DCH2 Turbo Beaver. The amphibian/wheeled version is available from the Avsim File Library. Search for the file "dh2x_fop.zip" and download. You will find that the FSX version VC displays an opaque propeller (annoying, and virtually useless). You can fix this problem by downloading the fix from the Premier Aviation Design website link DHC2 Prop Fix and scroll down 2/3 of the page until you find the "FSX ACCELERATION/SP2 FIXES" and download the fix "DHC-2T FOPA Amphibian" file "fopa_amph.zip". Enjoy, it is really a great plane...

It's actually Premier "Aircraft" Design. And yes, I also have the PAD Wheeled Beaver. I seem to have liked flying this one better than the default model, because, being charitable, this one has excellent framerates and it just files better than the default model. Spinning around Friday Harbour has never been better! Dave.
