Featured Replies

I just purchased a Windows 7 (64 bit) system. I have reinstalled FSX along with FSUIPC version 4.60aI am able to start up Radar contact to the point where the first commands appear in red letters on the left side of the screen. When I select and response (such as line 1 or 2) I receive this error:Run-time error 75. Radar Contact.fsuipc.rcv4 codeHow do I fix this problem? Thanks,Jim

Hi Jim,Look in the pinned topics at the head of the forum.Norman
Norman,I have look through the pinned topics, however still have not been able to figure this out. I am not sure if .flt/.wx button should be pointed to the main folder for FSX, or to the the folder that contains the actual flight plans. I was unable to see any description of this button in the manual? I am running Windows 7 64 bit.The main program is located at : C:\program files (x86)\microsoft Games\microsoft flight simulator xThe flight plans are located at C:\Users\ (name)\My documents\flight simulator xI have pointed the .wx/.flt button to each location. I load a flight plan into FSX, and startup sitting on runway. Then I start RC4, load the flight plan. It opens onto the FSX screen. I select either line 1 or 2, and RC4 stops with run-time error 75 RadarContact.FSUIPC.RCV4 codeAny ideas? Thanks, jim

i think he was referring to the pinned topic on run time 75 errors, that explain how you have to "run as" administrator on vista and windows 7

I am log-on as a administrator. Is there more to do? Windows 7 is new to me.Jim

If you have not, create a shortcut to start RC. Right click on that shortcut, select properties. One of the settings will be to run as admin. That gives RC itself admin privileges so it can access your FS and sub folders. This is in addition to logging in with admin rights.

absolutely. logging in as administrator, doesn't mean what it used to. you still have only user rights, and those rights don't allow you to write files to c:\program files... directory, without permission. since you don't start rc as an administrator (with administrator rights), rc doesn't have permission to write to c:\program files... which is probably where you installed rc.common problem, easy solution.jd

I ran RC in administrator mode and the Run-time error 75. still came up.Comments please.Pappy

Right click on the RC icon, select shortcut/advanced, check run as administrator. That should solve the error 75 issues.Do not use start/menu, create a desktop icon first.

OK I solved the problem. First, I created a desktop ICON, and set to run as administrator. However, this did not help. Taking a close look at my error message, I could see reference to FSUIPC. I noticed the problem occurred when I tried to start interfacing with it, by asking for weather (for example), or any other request. So I took a guess that perhaps the Windows 7 "User Account Control" might have something to do with this failure. I was correct. Setting the UAC to "never Notify" solved this problem for me. I find it interesting that I am the only person to have this problem, as I could not find reference to this as a possible solution. s Perhaps someone else will see this response and find it helpful. Remember, I went direclyt from Windows XP to Windows 7, so this interface is new to me.Comment? Thanks,Jim

rc runs fine, no 75's, if you follow the directions. right mouse click the .exe or the shortcut, click run as administrator. there is no need to turn off UAC. UAC is good, and should not be turned off. it helps protect you from real threats.jd
