July 10, 201015 yr Does anyone know how to install the project airbus aircraft.I have looked all over for some kind of explanation but can't find anything. Also does anyone know how to merge the VC from the wilco package with the project airbus to get the best of both worlds?]Thanks Rich
July 10, 201015 yr Also does anyone know how to merge the VC from the wilco package with the project airbus to get the best of both worlds?]Basics: You cannot merge VCs because they're located inside the 3d model file. You can merge 2D panels though. In FSX the aircrafts are located in the FSX\simobjects\airplanes folder
July 10, 201015 yr Basics: You cannot merge VCs because they're located inside the 3d model file. You can merge 2D panels though. In FSX the aircrafts are located in the FSX\simobjects\airplanes folderIf it's one of their FSX native models you CAN merge the model with another VC (from a native fsx aircraft)I uploaded a file over at flightsim.com which has the A319 and 320 PA models merged with default A321 VC.http://dfs2.flightsim.com/kdlr.php?fn=paa319nwa.zipIs the wilco model native? Then you'll be able to make the merge.... | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
July 10, 201015 yr Yes, you can merge FSX native models with FSX vc's. Their single aisle aircraft have FSX models available. The A380 is a FS9 aircraft MSFS Premium Deluxe Edition; Windows 11 Pro, I9-9900k; Asus Maximus XI Hero; Asus TUF RTX3080TI; 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw DDR4 3600; 2X Samsung 1TB 970EVO; NZXT Kraken X63; Seasonic Prime PX-1000, LG 48" C1 Series OLED, Honeycomb Yoke & TQ, CH Rudder Pedals, Logitech G13 Gamepad
July 11, 201015 yr If it's one of their FSX native models you CAN merge the model with another VC (from a native fsx aircraft)Wow this is news to me, I didn't know anything about this.I saw your model.cfg file and it's like this:[models]normal=A319_100_CFM_NoVCinterior=Airbus_A321_interior
July 11, 201015 yr Yep, the jist of it is:As long as there are two entries in the model section (exterior and interior), it's safe to assume it's a native model. If your model has those two entires you can swap the cockpits. However it's not that simple.... you 'll need to copy all the textures from the new cockpit over to your current airframe. You'll also need to adjust the panel.cfg file so the VC viewpoint is in the correct spot. IT's a lot of trial and error. I don't know anything about this wilco plane - first we need to know if it has these two entries in the cfg file... | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

Another way to tell is to open the actual model file with notepad (best to make a backup first) and if it has MDLXMDLH in there, it's FSX native.
July 11, 201015 yr To sum up what I collected in this thread:1. You can merge a VC from one Model into another one if both Planes are FSX native models.2. The Project Airbus A380 is a FS9 model, so this is currently not possible with this plane. They need to create a VC by themselves or create a FSX native Model. Is that correct?

Move the Pa model (And it's textures) to the wilco folder copy the Wilco interior model to the PA model folder you just created. Copy the VC and panel textures to the PA Texture folder, if they are not already in the base fallback texture folder, modify the aircraft.cfg file with the flightsim entries, contact points for the PA model, lights and viewpoint. If you go the other way (Panel/systems to model) The FDE will be different and the systems may not work as they were designed to. And yes the Wilco A320 is a FSX model, I have some videos of the merge with the PA model, check my youtube link below. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
