I remember visiting Kitty Hawk many years ago and it still amazes me that such a fragile craft was able to take to the air. Sure the place is a bit different now than when that first flight took place, still, the ability to keep that one day alive in aviation history, it is for the better.

Bob, did you happen to visit Manteo as well? A few great restaurants down there. KFFA and KMQI used to be my favorite cross country locations while working towards the instrument. Fly RUQ-->FFA for the museum, then hop the sound for a 5 minute flight to MQI for some crab legs! :(

Zach, after buying 5 plane tickets, 1/3 rent of an 8 bedroom house on the beach for a week, 1/3 of a weeks food for 19 people and and 9 days car rental, I was really not able to eat out much. But we did visit the island of the lost colony and spent a day in Williamsburg, where my wife went to school. Beautiful country.Bob

Currently 45 minutes up the coast from Kitty Hawk right now! Earlier this week I went down and saw the site then did one of those hang gliding lessons! Great fun I highly suggest it.RegardsAlex
