.......this one seems to have "flown in under the radar" :( to me. Just saw it under Avsim News, and wondered why I hadn't heard or saw any pre-release info. Maybe I just missed it :( .If this thing has a decent aerobatic flight model I would "snap" (pun intended) it up. See it hereSteve

Heya Steve,You did not miss the pre-release info, as there was deliberately not any. The whole policy was to labour away quietly until there was something that was ready for release. We avoided all this "coming soon" business because, well, you know how some other developers hype things to death. We wanted to build the aircraft quietly and get it right before making a fuss about it. It was all about showing something when we had something that was release worthy. (I say we here as I am involved with the team and wrote the manual)Please take a chance to look at Alan's posts in the screenshot forum. It is excellent!http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtop...=0#entry1799455all the very bestJaneRachel

Thanks Al and Jane. I'm usually hestitant to be "first in the water" so to speak, but I may just have to take the plunge after reading Alans' posts. And Jane, may I add I like surprises :(

This is a nice little plane guys - JaneRachel has been a friend for a long time and he gave me a preview copy to check out a few days ago. You can definitely do aerobatics in this thing! Model and VC are quite nice. Don't hesitate to pick it up if you're into this sort of flying.

OK, well ... I just bought it but can not get the download portion of their site to work for this file. So ... I have left a memo for Addictive Simulations regarding problem. Hopefully they provide prompt assistance.CheersBob C.

Hi Bob,Hopefully you got my email in response to your support request. You can download the Pitts here:http://www.abacus.org/Pitts/PittsSetup.exe2 things everyone... you need a serial number so please don't download it if you haven't bought it, and no, not THAT Abacus! :)I hope that you managed to get it OK. Unfortunately some people are experiencing dropped packets presumably due to demand.Kind regardsDavid Chester

I've just completed a review of this thing for Avsim, which should be up on the site reviews pages in a few days. I was impressed, so impressed in fact, that I fully expect it to become one of those 'legendary' FS aeroplanes when the word spreads. It is right up there with the Real Air SF260, Aeroworx B200 and the PMDG 747 in terms of quality and authenticity. Yup, I was that kind of impressed.Anyone who has ever chucked a real aeroplane around the skies, will know that doing so is the most fun you can have whilst keeping your clothes on, and this simulated one gets pretty close to granting you that feeling. Personally I think the developers are completely insane to be only charging 20 quid for it, so don't confuse it with what you can get for about 20 quid from the other Abacus. The fact that it is just as good in FS9 too is remarkable (100FPS-plus most of the time on a dual-core AMD processor with all the sliders over to the right). That's quite heartening for those who are staying with the older sim, because FS9 is a long way from being dead whilst things like this Pitts are being made for it, it's just a shame that the FS9 replay camera doesn't record control deflections. It gets good FPS in FSX too incidentally; nowhere near that which FS9 can deliver, but more than enough for silky smooth aerobatics with the sliders over pretty far and REX clouds with ASE running whilst photorealistic terrain whizzes past your wingtips.I'll get onto a more pressing matter however; since the exe file is one where you need a serial number for in order to get it to work, if you still get no joy Bob, PM me and I'll whizz the exe file to you via yousendit if you haven't yet got it sorted (it is 157Mb).I should warn you however, that this little aeroplane will probably steal your life and possibly kill your joystick as you thrash it about all over the place. :( Al

Ok, yes I received prompt attention, and today was able to download and install to both FS9 and FSX.Now I am trying it out. First thing I notice is the sound is so so. I am re-routing to a better sound set. FS9 had no pilot, but FSX does.Very nice visual model. Flight dynamics, so far very good on first flight. We'll see... I used to fly small homebuilts so should be fun. For basically $25 US, not too bad!!CheersBob C.Shamefull PS - If you still fly FS9 - I have an offering for FS9, the original Lancair Legacy 2000. Another fun Experimental! File name: legacy5.zip - Available here at Avsim.Add-ons available also. Those authorized by me are best!! Oh that was so bad of me!! I have not been around here in years, but ... I can trully appreciate what it takes to put a project like this together. Try the Pitts S1 ... You'll like it. From one simmer to another.

LOL.... the sound is so-so on the real one too! :( Having had the pleasure of flying both, it is my humble opinion that the Addictive Pitts is the most accurate representation of any aircraft model ever produced for MS flight simulator let alone FSX. The frame rate amazes me for such an accurately detailed work of art ... it really flies like the real one!Fantastic achievement Addictive .... more soon please! :(

FS9 had no pilot, but FSX does.
The FS9 model doesn't have a pilot figure (when viewed externally)?

Guys,The FS9 version does indeed have the pilots. You need to enable them via the configuration editor by the shift key combination or the CE minicon in the FS9 2D panels. The difference between FS9 and FSX is that the pilot does not appear by default and you must select the option in the config editor first. it is down to a difference in the way both sims handle special effects.all the bestJaneRachel
