July 27, 201015 yr I bought the Carenado 206 Stationair today. It's been out there for quite a while, and I kind of ignored it. I decided to buy it today because it's a cool looking 6 seater that has some respectable power. I love GA aircraft, and this one is different enough that it adds a nice fun factor to the airplane stable.I recently heard and read of a 206 crash in Lake Michigan, and this spurned my interest in the plane. The pilot survived and hopefully will be able to provide valuable information that will prevent this kind of tragedy again. I have a friend from Michigan, and he told me he knew 4 of the 6 individuals on that plane. After my first short flight with this Carenado gem, I must say that I'm impressed with the way the plane handles, sounds, and looks. I'm looking forward to hearing from any of you who fly this model frequently.Stan

July 28, 201015 yr I definately think the Cessna 206 Stationair by Carenado is one that flew under the radar, as you rarely see it mentioned in various forums. It's one of my favorites for many reasons. It looks and fly's great, comes in both regular and amphibian configuration, highwing and lots of windows make it easy to see out of, great for sightseeing, 2D and 3D cockpit, low stall speed and 6 cylinder power make it good for getting in and out of almost anywhere, nice sound, nice paint jobs, frame rate freindly, Carenado quality, with a good price. Wow, what else can you say.....My only complaint (and maybe its me not knowing any better?) but when night flying in the 3D panel and you turn on the dash panel lights, it also turns on a sort of dome light too, which makes it slightly more difficult to see out of the cockpit. I wish the two lights could be turned on and off independantly. I love the red dash lights, but hate bright white dome light (when in flight). Also (and this isn't a gripe) but it comes with two amphibian models, one called Amphib Extreme Sports, and the other Amphib Bush. I don't know what the difference is between the two, and they look the same to me, even the same livery on them. Anybody know if there is a difference? Love Airplanes and American Muscle Cars
July 28, 201015 yr I've had this one in my hanger for several years, now and to be honest it is my most used aircraft. Versatile, with plenty of power and decent cruise speed for X-country. Float, amphibious and land versions. Nice virtual cockpit and great on framerates, as with all Carenado products. Flight dynamics are convincing at all but the extreme edges of the flight envelope. Can't ask for much more. Regards Martin Martin Sims: MSFS 2020, MSFS 2024 and X-plane 11 Home Airport: CYCW - Chilliwack, BC Canada i5 13600KF 32GB DDR4 3600 RAM, RTX3080TI Meta Quest 3
July 28, 201015 yr Author Glad to hear all these positive comments about this plane. I remember when it first came out...I just thought of it as another Cessna, and I decided I didn't need to purchase it. Now, however, with addons like Orbx's Northwest scenery and REX for textures, GA planes are extremely meaningful to the sim! It's been several weeks since I piloted a 737 or larger. I'm enjoying all the GA aircraft in my FSX hanger. But this 206 Stationair behaves just superbly and is great to look at, so I'll be somewhat addicted to it for a while, I'm sure. Thanks for the feedback.Stan
July 28, 201015 yr Poncho,The difference between the two amphib models? It took me a long time to figure out (because I was looking at the external model), but check the "baggage" behind the seats.John
