August 1, 201015 yr I have to say i enjoy the LD version just as much as i enjoy the maddog version. However with the LD version i have a couple concerns.1. When running the After Start Checklist, the FO always turns ON the engine anti ice, even when OAT is 36*C and there is no icing condition present. And when you reply OFF he doesnt do anything about it, he just moves on to the next item. So my request, could you make it like the maddog when he gets to engine anti ice, turns them ON or OFF according to your command?2. From the gate i followed the tutorial and did all the commands as per the tutorial, but before i took off, i forgot to ask the FO to seat the cabin, anyway i called for the runway entry procedure and he did it. after i lifted off and he called positive rate, i commanded gear up, and all he said was CHECK. and did nothing. Now im currently in cruise and no matter what i tell the FO to do all he does is turn ON the STATUS page and says CHECK. I even called for the after takeoff checklist during initial climbout and all he says is CHECK. I tried cycling through the different phases in the control panel and tried turning the Voice button OFF then ON, and still having the problem. Im using Windows 7 64 and FS2004EDIT: Additionally, this is the second time this has happened. I turn on the seatbelt sign during cruise, and the FA makes the announcement, and tries to contact me to find out whats wrong. However when i press the FA button on the control panel the ON light goes off and i dont hear anything, and the FA keeps ringing the cockpit all through the cruise. August 2, 201015 yr Commercial Member Hi Bryan,1. I just tried to reproduce the After Start Flow issue with the Engine Anti Ice switches. It worked for me, so I'll have to ask if anyone else can reproduce this somehow. The conditions for the FO to turn on EAI during his After Start flow are:(Ambient temp less than 10 or runway not dry) or (visibility less than 300 meters)I did a test where I load the 737 on a standard day (temp 15 degrees), weather was CAVOK... and the FO did not turn on the EAI switches during his After Start Flow.2. Did you try manually changing "Modes"? Remember a lot of the calls won't function unless you're in the right "Mode" as displayed on the FS2Crew Main Panel. The modes should automatically change for you.For example, to call for the After Takeoff Checklist, the mode must say "AFTER TAKEOFF".I suspect when you called "Gear Up" the speech system didn't hear it properly, so as a result of that the Mode stayed in INIT CLIMB.TIP: While you're first learning FS2Crew, fly with the FS2Crew Main Panel open so you can see the Mode Changes.3. Do not attempt to turn 'off' the FA button on the FS2Crew Main Panel. FS2Crew will turn it off automatically. So after the FA asks you "Turbulence or Depressurization" be sure to answer her with the correct response but don't turn off the FA button manually. Cheers, B. August 2, 201015 yr Author thanks for the reply Bryan1. I will try it again, without using real world weather and see what happens2. Yes i did try manually changing the modes, when i reached cruise i even tried changing the mode to approach and asked the FO, "are you ready for the approach brief" (i believe the speech engine recognized it properly because thats what came up in the green bar at the top of the screen) and hte FO still just said CHECK and turned on the STATUS page, and the * wasnt flashing in the window.3. When the FA calls, even if i dont press the FA button on the panel, he doesnt say anything, he just keeps ringing the intercom, at maybe 10 or 15 seconds intervals.I was wondering if it had anything to do with changing the bank angle selector to AUTO while on the ground? Is that of any importance when i change it? Because thats the only thing i do that is outside of the tutorial.thanks Bryan Richards "People depend so much on automation that they forget how to get the automation to work." B.W.

Are you using FSX or FS9?2 and 3: Follow the tutorial again to the letter please. Bank angle to auto: Would make no difference.A difference between this version and the old 'button' style version is that Voice version (at least in theory) is much harder to screw-up, and it's more forgiving and flexible if you don't follow things to the letter. That was the intent, but based on remarks 2 and 3 I'm not so sure!P.S. What cruise altitude are you using?Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
August 2, 201015 yr Author ok im currently level FL380 and everything went without a hitch, only that the FO still turned on the EAI and didnt turn them off at the checklist item. The only thing i did was reinstall the leveld and FS2crew, and this time, i entered an arrival runway in the FMC. I dont usually do this at the gate as i like to wait til im enroute later in the flight and plan the arrival at that stage according to weather or online atc. However, i am going to do another flight later and see if the problems were fixed by the reinstall or by entering an arrival runway.I suspect also that the EAI issue during the after start check might be because im running activesky over a network through widefs. I will confirm that later as well. Bryan Richards "People depend so much on automation that they forget how to get the automation to work." B.W.
August 2, 201015 yr Author well 180+ miles from the T/D it happened again. Asked the FO if he was ready for the appraoch brief and all he said was CHECK and turned on the STATUS page. I turned on the seatbelt sign, the FA kept ringing the flightdeck. The only commands the FO responded to was autopilot commands.I have the Maddog version and it works perfectly fine, i cant figure whats wrong :S Bryan Richards "People depend so much on automation that they forget how to get the automation to work." August 3, 201015 yr Hi Bryan, the below quote is from the manual, I am just checking that you are not receiving calls from the 'Level-D cabin' as opposed to the 'FS2Crew cabin' 6. It
August 3, 201015 yr Author Hey Dave, no thats not it. I may have described that wrong. What happens is you can see the MID cabin crew call button is pushed by itself and you hear the DING DONG chime. It happens every 10-20 seconds, even after landing. I seem to be the only having these problems and i cant figure out why. I've reinstalled the LD767 and FS2Crew. Im starting to think maybe i should uninstall the maddog version and see what happens.I also realised that i cannot set a soft mute key via the configuration. I select a key, like left shift, save and close and it still wont mute when on the frequency. Again, that works perfectly fine with the maddog version. August 3, 201015 yr Commercial Member Hi,Do not uninstall the Maddog... there's no point... the products are totally separate.EAI: Active Sky or any other weather program should not be a prob. Are you running FSX or FS9?MID Cabin Crew button: Gets pushed by itself? Try this: Don't manually turn on the seatbelt signs. Command the FO to do it.Mute Key: Should work as I've tested it. Did you assign it via the FS2Crew 767 Config Manager.Best, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
August 3, 201015 yr Author 1. Im running FS9.1 with Windows 7 Pro 64bit.2. Yes, in that when you push the button yourself, you see it turn black and returns to normal when you let go. It is doing it by itself.3. Im going to set up another flight and give it a try. But i notice those things always happen when the FO is stuck on CHECK.4. Yes, i assigned it via the 767 config manager..will report back Bryan Richards "People depend so much on automation that they forget how to get the automation to work." B.W.

August 3, 201015 yr Commercial Member Goods news, I was finally able to reproduce your EAI issue during the FO's After Start Flow, and I fixed it.It was an issue that impacted FS9 only, not FSX.I'll be releasing a hotfix shortly that will fix this issue as well as an issue I discovered post release with the soft-mute assignment. However, I'm still at a loss with the other stuff you observed regarding the cabin call button.Again, please email me so we can do the Remote Desktop. I need to be able to see it with my own eyes.Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
August 3, 201015 yr Author Hi Bryan, Thats great! I also have some good newsI think i might have narrowed down the FO being stuck on CHECK and the cabin call issue. I just finished a flight and everything went PERFECTLY. The only things i did NOT do on this successful flight that i did in my other flights was...1. Load the FS2Crew panel state that installed with the product. I just set the panel up myself to the same state.2. I did not use the hard mute button. And if i remember correctly the issue always came up after i turned off the seatbelt sign and then later on, unmuted the hard mute.I will do another flight doing only one of the above mentioned, and if it happens again i will let you know. I will also see when i can arrange the remote desktop if you still need to.thanks! Bryan Richards "People depend so much on automation that they forget how to get the automation to work." B.W.
August 4, 201015 yr Author Well it seems to be neither which i thought, just did 2 flights which went without a hitch. I forgot to mention that i ran the speech recognition training and calibrated the mic again. I havent had the problem since. But thanks for the hot fix. I have another small bug. When you set the Mic Selector on the radio panel to COMM 2, and you close the center pedestal, the mic selector button returns to COMM 1.Thanks again for a great product Bryan, my credit card is ready to fire up for an MD11 version! There will not be a Voice Commander for the MD11... if you like the Level-D version, the next best thing is the Voice Commander for the PMDG Jetstream.Best, B.
