August 7, 201015 yr Hi Forum,I sometimes fly the DEN-LAX route and notice that my fmc SIDS and STARS are not up to date. For example, the VATSIM controller tells me that I need to take the RIIVR2 arrival but on my STAR page it's not available. I would really appreciate some help hear. Thanks so much,SWAPilot785 :(
August 7, 201015 yr Interesting topic. I have the same thing.I would be interested to hear the more experienced in this.
August 7, 201015 yr Interesting topic. I have the same thing.I would be interested to hear the more experienced in this.navigraph.com or a couple of folks provide limited coverage for free. If you do a search you will find them. George Morris
August 7, 201015 yr Author navigraph.com or a couple of folks provide limited coverage for free. If you do a search you will find them.Ok, thanks so much I will give Navigraph a try :-)
August 11, 201015 yr You can acquire older SIDS and STARS from this site and other respective FS download sites as well. Just type in PMDG and search the downloads section. However, older AIRAC data is not recommend, especially if you fly online.I live in Loveland BTW. :)
August 11, 201015 yr Use Navigraph. And also, don't just let the FMC lead you blindly, learn to use the charts too and cross reference it with what them FMC is doing. One thing I've noticed as a VATSIM controller is new pilots treat their FMC like God, letting it do everying; baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad! Andrew McCluskey
August 11, 201015 yr Try to learn how to edit the files yourself. It's quite easy...That way, regardless of your airac cycle you can add waypoints to your SID/STARS too. Onur K. Visit my FS blog: Clear Right...
August 11, 201015 yr PMDG beta tester Dan Downs makes PMDG SID/STAR AIRAC updates frequently available here in the AVSIM library for about 65 major FAA airports.Terry Yingling provides the same (without charge) for the UK and surrounding areas plus the US here:http://planepath.com/html/dafif.html . He does suggest contributions to assist in paying for site maintenance and some subscription fees to databases he maintains.Navigraph is a paid subscription service. For terminal procedures you pay for a subscription period but not for each FMC or application format downloaded.

For terminal procedures you pay for a subscription period but not for each FMC or application format downloaded.Just to be clear, neither Dan Downs nor Terry Yingling provide AIRAC updates. Both, however, do provide Terminal Procedures (SIDs and STARs), and Instrument Approach Procedures (IAPs). Those procedures rely on the AIRAC data, which is only available from Navigraph.com. Navigraph happens to also include terminal procedures with the AIRAC data in the case of PMDG. So one could simply purchase the current AIRAC cycle from Navigraph and would have everything they need to update the FMC in PMDG aircraft. However, there are some airports not included in the Navigraph terminal procedures that are included in the TPs from Planepath (Terry Yingling). Also the TPs by Dan Downs I find to be much more refined than the ones from either Navigraph or Planepath. So what I do is after installing the latest AIRAC cycle from Navigraph, I then copy the TPs to a temporary location, then install the TPs from Planepath, then copy the Navigraph TPs over those, and finally, I copy the TPs provided by Dan Downs. August 14, 201015 yr There are other sources of AIRAC data and terminal procedure data for developers. As an example UK AIS has allowed Terry free access to its digital database and permission to convert it to the various FS formats. Other real world sources offer paid subscriptions for developers to a database to source end-user products.Another developer who subscribes to various suppliers is Ernie Alston of the FSBuild planner and ISGsim instruments. He provides free AIRAC updates for terminal procedures, airway, and nav aid data for use in his products so the user is kept up to date.navigraph is a good paid source for charts for terminal area use and enroute. UK charts for both are available at no cost without registration here;http://www.nats-uk.ead-it.com/public/index.php.htmlEurocontrol (free registration required) has a searchable database for both here:http://ead-website.ead-it.com/publicuser/public/pu/login.jspFAA terminal data is available by single or bundled charts for each airport at flightaware.com.

August 16, 201015 yr True in PMDG AIRAC data. I was however responding to the title of this thread regarding only FMC terminal procedures which are dated based on AIRAC data cycles.AIRAC data I would imagine include these databases:wpNavAPT.txtwpNavAID.txt
