Strange patterns is scenery while panning

Featured Replies

When I change my view, from VC to spotplane and back I see for a short moment strange patterns popping up.It is a issue I struggle for a long time but delayed actions due to a hardware change so I am sure that the hardware is not the case.My former C2D 8500 with 8800 GTX produces exactly the same as my newer i5/750-275GTX.I also made a fresh FS9 install and tried standard .cfg settings but the same result. It appears all over the world so add-on (Europe) scenery is not the problem. It appears also in default scenery.I have included 2 screenshots.Happy landings

I had a very similar thing happen some time ago, but nobody could come up with an answer. It occurred mainly with an excellent add-on for KBVT (or so I think), and you could see the airport and surrounding scenery underneath. I switched of "ground scenery casts shadows" and the fault was cured. Maybe it is something simple like this that is causing your problem. Hope you can fix it.Echofox

Turning off the ground scenery shadows is not the solution, to bad...

Nothing strange about them, it's just the scenery engine trying to catch up, redrawing the scenery tiles.

HelloOpen up your main FS9 config file, and look for the texture bandwidth multi entry(approx a third the way down the page)by default its set to 40 try changing this to anything from 100 to 400 (I believe anything above this has no more effect)mine is currently at 200.This definitely does work.and should help with your texture pooping. Its an old and tested tweak.Andyrolleyes.gif
