Wilco Airbus 320 and VASFmc (MCDU)

Featured Replies

Hi, to get a better Airbus addon for FS9, I was thinking about this. Wilco Airbus 320 has a good panel, but a bad MCDU, so is it possible (and how) to merge it with the VASFmc gauges (only the MCDU, which seems to be very nice)? Thanks, bye.RR

The MCDU is an integral part of the systems - the center piece even, for all I am concerned. I highly doubt it is popssible to swap the default one for a third party one, because all connections of the default MCDU are severed if you take it out. You'll probably have to rewrite much of the code to make it work, since I don't think the VASFmc gauge you speak will be able to "talk" to the A/P and A/T systems just like that.

Ahia, ok idea rejected. This was last try to improve the Wilco Airbus panel. Ok, let's hope to have at least in 2020 an great Airbus addon... If that will not be too later.

What is it that you don't like about the MCDU?

Nowadays, Currently, Right now and Right here , the Wilco MCDU is the most advanced and real one in the Flight Simulator world.More advanced and real than VASFMC. This last one has not a vertical profile.Wait for the Wilco Update that will come soon ( At least is what was said at Avsim not a long time ago... )He%20He.gifGreetings.

I don't think so it is the best or/and better than VASFMC... It has lots of bugs, as I read in several forums. Many features are not implemented, for example, it has not TOD and TOC waypoints (so you have to calculate manually), fuel & time prediction, INIT B page. Furthermore, you cannot change the climb/cruise/descent speed when that phase becomes active and changing SID and STAR when already set sometimes doesn't work. You cannot say this is a complete MCDU (and not only by me but for many people), while seeing at VASFMC it has lots of features not simulated by Wilco one. Anyway, waiting for the upgrade sure, hope will improve this system. Bye.

yes it does ... can be issues if you change the route. there are work-arounds.
... , fuel & time prediction
yes it does ... in most cases it is correct.
... , INIT B page
yes it does ... engines OFF, and in intermediate or advanced modes
... changing SID and STAR when already set sometimes doesn't work.
i've never had a problem changing a procedure.--

That´s the same I was going to say!Yes!Before starting the engines, it´s necessary align the IRS and configure the FMC. / As I said before, the Feelthere Airbus has its bugs, but in this World nothing is perfect! Shame%20On%20You.gif

Maybe you should read the manual. All those functions are available to you. You must program the FMC correctly to use the features you seek.
