Controlling ATC Window Responses

Featured Replies

Greetings from a first-time forum user. I have searched high and low for a way to communicate with ATC (FS9/WinXP) without using the keyboard directly - ie keys 1,2,3 etc. Is it possible to respond to ATC calls with a programmable button on yoke or stick? Thanks to anyone with an answer

Not sure if you've heard of it, but you probably have...VATSIM!Real life ATC, you have to communicate. It's great.Have a go with it. www.vatsim.net

Welcome jesglstx.Opa's suggestion will add a visual number bar to the panel which allows you to use your mouse to select atc 1 atc 2 etc. Nice gauge, but for some it takes away from the over all appearance of the panel. With a little effort, you can make all the ATC selections invisible by editing the xmp gauge included in Opa's link. As an example in the picture below I've added invisible click spots for ATC 1, ATC 2, ATC3, and ATC 4 as shown. You mentioned you want to use your joystick to respond to atc. You can do this also using a program call FSUIPC (pay ware). http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmlIf you have FSUIPC installed, open up FSUIPC (clicking on the "Modules" tab) and click on the "Buttons +Switches" tab. Press the switch on your joystick, then check "Select for FS control" box and then scroll down to "Atc Menu 1" Then drop the window under "Control sent when button pressed" and pick "Atc Menu 1" for ATC 1 etc. Do the same for any other ATC selections.NOTE: If you add the ATC selection to a joystick switch via FSUIPC, you should also deactivate that joystick switch in Flight Sim under "Options-Controls-Assignments" or else that switch might respond to ATC 1 and lower your gear at the same time. Yikes!!! Good luckRJ
