August 24, 201015 yr The converted freighter is taking a longer upper deck body frame that the passenger model has, and adding a side cargo door. Then we could get a load manager to add pallets. The -400 passenger is an updated -200sud frame or really a -300the -400 freighter is an updated -200 frameOk, so instead of a nose loader you want a side loader? I honestly don't think PMDG would see a profit from that small of a change. They also might have decided to skip the BCF because it's not actually a product offered by Boeing. Privately owned contractors actually do the conversion for airlines who want to convert their -400 PAX....but it's not sold as a BCF by the Boeing Company. Just a guess though.
August 24, 201015 yr BSDF is the code for one of the 3rd party companies that do it. But BCF is Boeing Converted Freighter and the process is done by them.
August 24, 201015 yr The 747-400BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter), formerly known as the 747-400SF (Special Freighter), is a conversion program for standard passenger 747-400s. The project was launched in 2004 and will done by approved contractors such as TAECO, KAL Aerospace and SIA Engineering. The first Boeing 747-400BCF was redelivered to Cathay Pacific Cargo and entered service on December 19, 2005.The 747-400BDSF (Bedek Special Freighter) is another converted version freighter by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). The first 747-400BDSF was redelivered to Air China Cargo.[citation needed]
August 24, 201015 yr Commercial Member Walter- If I recall one of the key programmers involved in the 747 is no longer with the company (so i interprated that from prior posts). Doubt your going to get major changes to the 747 any time soon. The two points are totally unrelated...We have ceased development on the core of the 400 because the programming team has their hands full with the NGX and 777...The fellow we discharged is/was not relevant. August 24, 201015 yr Looking at how many people complained about the 8i because it wasn't a full model extension. If all you want is the look, then paint it. It is part of the PMDG 747 paintkit. The LCF has a huge visual difference and lots of cool things added to the overall experience. Other than yourself I doubt anyone else would buy a BCF extension since there isn't much at all diferent when your only buying visual model extensions at the moment. After reading this thread and seeing the minut differences there would be in the actual model makeover, I still can't see buying it since again, there isn't enough to break a sweat over. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
August 25, 201015 yr I like the fact that Ryan said that the programming team has had their hands full with the 737 and 777. That sounds like great news. Alexander Brinson

Maybe the 777 release will not be that far after the 737's? Or am I just falling pray to wishful thinking?
