Just wondering, I would think adding only a side cargo door to the exterior model of the pax 747-400 would be less difficult than the Boeing Beluga! Any chance we can get a BCF addon for the Queen?

I don't think he's pointing out anything wrong with it, he's just making an observation that PMDG have released the 747-8i/F, the LCF, but not the BCF, which is operating in greater numbers than both of the other two put together, and asking whether PMDG might consider releasing one.

What we really want is a revamped 747-400 3d model, the current one is too 'inefficient' and resource hungry.

Ummmm...correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the BCF basically the same thing as the 747-400F...which comes with the FSX base package??? The only difference I can see is the BCF has more upper deck windows. You really want them to put out an expansion pack where the only change is a few windows? The -8 and the LCF are basically just cosmetic changes to the body style...you're still flying the 400 model. I'm a bit confused at this post.

Boeing Cargo Freighter... It means Boeing Converted Freighter.This is simply a 747 passenger aircraft that was converted to the cargo version.As has been mentioned the BCF has a few more windows and maybe the internal structure is a little different to the 400F.But it's nothing major.

there are cargo repaints for the passenger variant available on the PMDG downloads page which give the effect of a BCF....

When did this happen?I got the 747-8 update, but have yet to reinstall it, and am not sure if I will. As for the LCF, there is a 0% chance I will buy this. But an airborn laser might come in handy when RC4 starts to vector an aircraft to cut me off whilst I am on short final....

Ok, explain to me then. What is the difference aesthetically (besides the few extra windows) between the -400F and the BCF? Remember, the LCF and -8 expansions are purely for looks....that's it.

The converted freighter is taking a longer upper deck body frame that the passenger model has, and adding a side cargo door. Then we could get a load manager to add pallets.The -400 passenger is an updated -200sud frame or really a -300the -400 freighter is an updated -200 frame

If I recall one of the key programmers involved in the 747 is no longer with the company (so i interprated that from prior posts). Doubt your going to get major changes to the 747 any time soon.
