  1. UPDATE - I was finally able to make a full flight with no problems. So I went back to KABQ and loaded the problem flightplan and the issue happened again. It's the flight plan itself that is causing the controller issue from what I can gather which I find interesting. One thing I have noticed is I am showing a "NO DES PATH AFTER MAGNE" but my legs page shows everything working fine. After I lose control the altitudes and speeds are all gone. Someone test this out when you have some time. Wondering if its something in my flight plan or a bug. Because i can recreate the problem everytime. Flight from KABQ - KSLC LARGO2 (RWY3) RSK JNC HELPR LEEHY3 (RWY17) [VORD17 transition OGD] Maybe I'm not doing something right - but I wouldn't think that it would disable my flight controls during taxi. I have toe brakes is all. Not thottle control, steering, etc.
  2. Still having problems - starting to think its the flight plan in the CDU. Tried not entering the plan and was able to taxi the whole way. at runway entered plan took off and then everything went south (literally - into the ground south). When i get some free time again i'm going to try and different route and see if this is the problem.
  3. I've done a restart - and the issue happened again. I don't want to prove einstiens theory of insanity correct today.(Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results) So I'll call it quits until I hear something otherwise.
  4. Very odd - Made a flight this morning no problems. Tried turning the flight around and making another - had numerous problems on the 4 takeoff attempts. So I completely restarted my computer and shut everything down but FSX. Starting at gate, wait until aircraft intializes. Then load everything into the CDU/FMC, pushback, taxi. While taxiing I noticed I can't steer any more with pedals. Look at flight controls nothing happening. Brakes still work. Go into the flight control config and see that FSX sees my controls moving. I recalibrate anyways and still nothing. Noticed MCP options not working also. Assuming this is a freeze, or a partial freeze. Anyone experience anything like this - how did you correct. I've got 50+ hours in this aircraft with little to no problems, and now out of nowhere its acting up.
  5. I love this signature....
  6. Which one, I have more than one NG (Livery - tail numbers) accross the country.
  7. Is there a resolution for this, I change runway and the aircraft still fly's and seems to react; however, I can no longer manually fly the thing. Like the change screwed things up.
  8. Anyone find anything that works somewhat effectivly for a fuel planner? In some cases my fuel planning works well but others not so well. Some times I come in with more than needed and well today I didn't come it at all. Slight miss calculation and strong head winds well needless to say while intercepting the localizer I see low oil pressure lights and things don't sound so right. I ran out of fuel. And for those of you out there that like to push your cars to the limit on gas gauge to E. Not recommended in this bird. Still showing I had .3 Total Engines died and would not fire back up. So wondering what everyone is using. I know the FMC tells you in the PROG screen, but when running ACArs systems its best to know ahead of time as changing fuel after connecting to Acars tends to throw things for a loop. While on that topic is it possible to program a default on load fuel quantity. instead of having to hit one of the pre options or manually entering it in all the time. Lets say you do a series of short hops all the time and all you need is the 1/3, can that be a default on load? thanks,
  9. I'm with you on this. I didn't really have any issues prior. to any of the hot fixes and ignored the first two. As I used the NGX more I noticed some little issues with the FMC when making big changes it would freeze. So I figured maybe someone has brought this up or the little tweaks made in the previous hotfixes would clean up these little issues and all woudl be good. Boy was I wrong. I went from 2 - 3 flights a day if not more to nothing. I couldn't get past the free flight screen before it CTD. Playing with it more I found the trusted options didn't look right and manually edited each one for the PMDG. which would re prompt me upon entering and actually allow me to get in the plane. Performance still wasn't right and the next time i loaded FSX I was back to square one. So for the last couple days I haven;t heard the purr of the engines. Tonight I took the dreaded plunge and unistalled FSX and all my add-ons. Let me remind you all how much time it takes to get the thing back to where it was. 4 hours later still no flight. It's amazing all the little tweeaks that need to be made here and there. Runway lighting, aircraft lighting (shockwave), addon scenery, cfg tweaks, ezdok install, etc, etc. The good news is I'm back to the orignal version and it seems to be working like it did prior. As for any future updates from PMDG - I'm going to wait until i hear what the general concensus is before i go through this again.
  10. See this link here. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/343100-landing-lights/page__hl__shockwave__fromsearch__1
  11. Ok, now that I've had more time to play around I was able to solve the problem. In my case the FSX.cfg file did not update correctly. I removed the old and had FSX build a new. When I restarted the normal questions pop up asking if you want to allow. Apparently the 2 dll files never asked the first go around. So i manually set the number to 1 and then open FSX. it asked if I trusted these files and everything loaded correctly. no more CTD for me.
  12. I do but it is not currently hooked up. Only CH products hooked up at the moment. @ flyingscampi I too had my doubts about installing the hot fix since i wasn't having any major issues. I had a couple problems when changing a SID/STAR on the fly. Lessons learned - try not to do that too much. But I held off on all of them until the release of number 3, and thought hell if they have gone this far I'm sure something has to be tweaked; why not. WRONG. So no it appears that I will have to unistall the whole thing and just install the original. just hope I don't run into any activation issues. I'll save this for this afternoon, when i have more time to focus on it and not work.
  13. tried renaming the old and having the system create new. Thats when i decided to post here. Haven't submitted a trouble ticket - as I was hoping this was an isolated issue since i haven't had a problem prior.
  14. I've had no problem with this aircraft until today. I unsitalled the liveries as instructed installed the hotfix (no issues). restarted my computer and now I CTD when I choose the NGX in the free flight screen. I pick the plane and it rotates about 2 degrees and then locks up and fatal error. details report back this: Problem signature:Problem Event Name: APPCRASHApplication Name: fsx.exeApplication Version: 10.0.61637.0Application Timestamp: 46fadb14Fault Module Name: PMDG_737NGX.DLLFault Module Version: 1.0.0.0Fault Module Timestamp: 4e4a3aefException Code: c0000005Exception Offset: 000573e0OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1Locale ID: 1033Additional information about the problem:LCID: 1033Read our privacy statement online:http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=104288&clcid=0x0409 Not sure if anyone has experienced this and found a way around; before I unistall the whole thing and go back to the original version.
  15. Anyone know what they changed in these Hotfixes? I've had little to no issues until this morning. Now when I load FSX and select the NGX (any livery) the model loads rotates about 2 degrees then causes my FSX to CTD. I uninstalled the liveries prior to install of hot fix. So wondering if I missed something along the way?
  16. If you ask me - I think altitude is the issue with anyone not being able to maintain speeds. I've put a lot of hops and hours in this NGX. and only had an issue once with speed. When ATL center was overloaded and asked me to drop some rediculous amount to intercept the localizer. I intercepted it alright - also ran plum out the end of the stadium with it. I find this bird very nice to fly - at time it almost feels sluggish. But having had some time behind the real sim - I'd say its pretty spot on.
  17. They have IFR now? It made a great VFR tool, but didn't think it had IFR capability
  18. Whats interesting is the rest of the lighting for the NGX is not in the cfg file for the aircraft. Only two lines of code which are the VC lights. But yes FSMP stated it correctly.
  19. In the manual there is a panel cfg command that i believe is designed to solve the problem on other aircraft that have the problem you talk about. I could be wrong in understanding its purpose. All I know is it worked like it should during my testing - good enough for me.
  20. Sorry didn't read through the whole post - I was distracted. There are other (Size) effects provided. and some that even are almost nothing. Its all in what you like. The part that i like the most is head on it drowns out thats behind it like it would in real life looking at a bright light in the dark. Plus I like to see some volume of light over the simple white circle - my opinion it gives it depth.
  21. This is what i added: If anyone spends the time to dial it in better please update with better locations. light.2 = 5, 5.500, 8.1, .400, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow,// Right Inboard Landing Lightlight.3 = 5, 5.500, -8.1, .400, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow,// Left Inboard Landing Lightlight.4 = 5, 6.500, -3.7, -3.700, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow,// Bottom Left Landing Lightlight.5 = 5, 6.500, 3.7, -3.700, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow,// Bottom Right Landing Lightlight.6 = 6, 43.0, 0.0, -5.700, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow,//Taxi
