August 16, 201114 yr I've had no problem with this aircraft until today. I unsitalled the liveries as instructed installed the hotfix (no issues). restarted my computer and now I CTD when I choose the NGX in the free flight screen. I pick the plane and it rotates about 2 degrees and then locks up and fatal error. details report back this: Problem signature:Problem Event Name: APPCRASHApplication Name: fsx.exeApplication Version: 10.0.61637.0Application Timestamp: 46fadb14Fault Module Name: PMDG_737NGX.DLLFault Module Version: 1.0.0.0Fault Module Timestamp: 4e4a3aefException Code: c0000005Exception Offset: 000573e0OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1Locale ID: 1033Additional information about the problem:LCID: 1033Read our privacy statement online:http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=104288&clcid=0x0409 Not sure if anyone has experienced this and found a way around; before I unistall the whole thing and go back to the original version. August 16, 201114 yr It may have something to do with your "fsx.cfg" file. Recommend testing out a newly created "fsx.cfg" to see if the problem exists. Make a copy of your current one to a different location, remove the "fsx.cfg" and start FSX. It will regenerate a new one and then try the NGX. If it works then you'll know something was messed up with your your old one. If not, then you'll know it's something else and you can restore the copied version back into place and go from there. This has resolved a few issues in the past for me when it comes to the main FSX menu screen. One of many different troubleshooting techniques I use. Cheers,Todd
August 16, 201114 yr Author tried renaming the old and having the system create new. Thats when i decided to post here. Haven't submitted a trouble ticket - as I was hoping this was an isolated issue since i haven't had a problem prior. Walter Trester
August 16, 201114 yr doubt doing anything with the fsx.cfg is going to help as clearly it is the PMDG.dll that is causing the crash Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
August 16, 201114 yr I work in IT and bitter experioence has prevented me from installing hotfixes on systems that aren't broke. This is no help, sorry. August 16, 201114 yr well as you might have seen in my other topic . Do you have any SAITEK products? /Michael Michael Moe
August 16, 201114 yr Author I do but it is not currently hooked up. Only CH products hooked up at the moment. @ flyingscampi I too had my doubts about installing the hot fix since i wasn't having any major issues. I had a couple problems when changing a SID/STAR on the fly. Lessons learned - try not to do that too much. But I held off on all of them until the release of number 3, and thought hell if they have gone this far I'm sure something has to be tweaked; why not. WRONG. So no it appears that I will have to unistall the whole thing and just install the original. just hope I don't run into any activation issues. I'll save this for this afternoon, when i have more time to focus on it and not work. Walter Trester
August 16, 201114 yr try calibrate your Yoke and see if it helps. Hotfix 2 screwed up my yoke and made me have PMDG_737NGX.dll failure Michael Moe
August 16, 201114 yr Only issue with controllers i have had are self inflicted. Re set up my CH pedals and yoke and had the pedals operating the ailerons. After several bad words at my NGX i realized it was the dummy at the controls. Rick Hobbs
August 16, 201114 yr Author Ok, now that I've had more time to play around I was able to solve the problem. In my case the FSX.cfg file did not update correctly. I removed the old and had FSX build a new. When I restarted the normal questions pop up asking if you want to allow. Apparently the 2 dll files never asked the first go around. So i manually set the number to 1 and then open FSX. it asked if I trusted these files and everything loaded correctly. no more CTD for me. Walter Trester
