August 22, 201015 yr There have been some fantastic discussions and contributers over on the Screen Shot forumn on how to best integrate enbseries into Flight Sim. Some of the results have been spectacular. However, I seem to be stuck in as much as the various settings don't seem to work on my system. The problem I have is that the clouds (see attached screen shot) seem to be over saturated, washed out even. My settings are as follows. August 22, 201015 yr Author Hi and thanks for your quick response. The settings you suggested (I think) are similiar to what feng and others are talking about and using to great effect. The results for me are pretty uninspiring as you can see. Tristan Living in the beautiful Chilterns. The results for me are pretty uninspiring as you can see.Tristan, easiest to get rid of the washed-out effect is to set BloomAllowOversaturation=0 but some of the effect will remain - that is bloom :(Also try playing with BloomPowerDay which is set to 25 and that is quite high. GammaCurveDay in COLORCORRECTION block determines the amount of darkening the ambient lighting. Positive numbers (like 1) make for a darker sim, whilst negative numbers will brighten it up. Two more things:- what is the datestamp of your d3d9.dll? For me, the best one is date April 13th, 2009. I am running Win XP SP3. - you seem to be in windowed mode. Have you tried bloom in fullscreen?Regards,Jure
August 23, 201015 yr Make sure you have the latest version of Bloom (1.0.0.1). FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
August 23, 201015 yr Author Hi Dillon and Jure Thanks for your help thus far. The date stamp is indeed 13th April 2009. I don't know whether this is the version that Dillon refers to. You have given me lots of pointers. I will have bit of a fiddle and let you know I get on. Best regardsTristan. Tristan Living in the beautiful Chilterns. August 23, 201015 yr Author Well I have toned down a lot of the bloom settings and made the overall environment a little darker and passive which I like anyway. Paying special attention to the Bloompowerday and GammaCurveday makes it possible to create fantasic results espceally how the sun reacts to metal surfaces. I have taken Dillons advice and changed my REX sky settings to Perfect. The clouds still look a little washed out in my opinion but I will keep tweaking. This is a quick completely unedited screen shot. Thanks for eveyones help, much appreciated. Regards Tristan Tristan Living in the beautiful Chilterns. August 23, 201015 yr Your sky shouldn't look washed out, don't know what's going on there. Anyway nice shot. Bloom may act different depending on video cards. That's the only since I can make out of the problems you've been having...For the record your shot at the top of this post actually looks fantastic, maybe it's just me. :( FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
August 24, 201015 yr Author I was beginning to think the first shot was better having scrolled between the two. But I think the last picture is a little bit more 'earthy' and less 'aggresive'. Discussing Screen Shots, like art can be very subjective and most of time no-one knows what you are talking about...like my first sentance above. Tristan Living in the beautiful Chilterns. To be honest when I first read this post and looked at that first shot I was a little dumbfounded as that's the look most of us are going for in FS9. :smile:If I was an Aeroflot fan that first shot would be my wallpaper now... I'd lie and say I took the shot. :( FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
August 24, 201015 yr Author Thanks Dillon, I have to say there really are some superb shots over at the screenshot forum. Feng, Jure, Ed and others have raised the benchmark with FS9 and its good to try and keep up with them. Either way with a new Sim being realised at some stage in the future I am more than happy to stay with FS9 and resist the temptation to migrate to FSX. Anyway, my settings if anyone is interested are as follows: [PROXY]EnableProxyLibrary=0InitProxyFunctions=0ProxyLibrary=[GLOBAL]UseEffect=1AlternativeDepth=1AllowAntialias=0BugFixMode=0SkipShaderOptimization=0QuadVertexBuffer=0EnableShaders_3_0=1UseMRTRendering=0AdditionalConfigFile=enbseries2.ini[EFFECT]EnableBloom=1EnableOcclusion=0EnableReflection=0EnableMotionBlur=0EnableWater=0EnableShadow=0DepthBias=0EnableDepthOfField=0[iNPUT]KeyUseEffect=123KeyBloom=120KeyOcclusion=121KeyReflection=122KeyCombination=16KeyScreenshot=45KeyShadow=119KeyWater=118KeyShowFPS=106[REFLECTION]ReflectionPower=0ChromePower=0UseCurrentFrameReflection=0ReflectionQuality=0ReflectionSourceSpecular=0ReflectionSourceTFactor=0UseAdditiveReflection=0ReflectionDepthBias=0UseLowResReflection=0ReflectionSinglePass=0UseEnvBump=0EnvBumpAmount=0EnvBumpOffset=0ReflectionFlip=0[bLOOM]BloomPowerDay=12BloomFadeTime=500BloomConstantDay=1BloomQuality=3BloomScreenLevelDay=35BloomCurveDay=0BloomPowerNight=3BloomConstantNight=5BloomCurveNight=1BloomScreenLevelNight=20BloomAdaptationScreenLevel=40BloomAdaptationMultiplier=99BloomAllowOversaturation=0BloomMaxLimit=100[sSAO]UseFilter=1OcclusionQuality=2FilterQuality=0DarkeningLevel=30BrighteningLevel=30IlluminationLevel=30AdditiveIlluminationLevel=30UseAmbientOcclusion=1UseIndirectLighting=1FadeDistance=50UseForAlphaTest=1UseForAlphaBlend=1[colorCORRECTION]DarkeningAmountDay=21ScreenLevelDay=30ScreenLevelNight=0DarkeningAmountNight=0GammaCurveDay=3GammaCurveNight=0.5ColorSaturationDay=0ColorSaturationNight=0UsePaletteTexture=0[WATER]UseWaterDeep=0WaterDeepness=20WaterQuality=0[sHADOW]ShadowFadeStart=0ShadowFadeEnd=0ShadowAmountDay=0ShadowAmountNight=0ShadowScreenLevelDay=0ShadowScreenLevelNight=0ShadowQuality=0UseShadowFilter=0FilterQuality=0ShadowBlurRange=0[ENGINE]ForceAnisotropicFiltering=0MaxAnisotropy=8ForceDisplayRefreshRate=0DisplayRefreshRateHz=60[MOTIONBLUR]MotionBlurQuality=0MotionBlurVelocity=0MotionBlurRotation=0[PERPIXELLIGHTING]SpecularColorMin=0SpecularColorMax=100SpecularColorMultiplier=100SpecularGlossinessMin=0SpecularGlossinessMax=100SpecularGlossinessMultiplier=100[DEPTHOFFIELD]DOFQuality=2DOFNumberOfPasses=1DOFFocusRange=50DOFBlurinessRange=10RegardsTristan.
