September 17, 201015 yr The Mooney is also available on the Carenado website:http://www.carenado.com/ecommerce/buscador.php3?id_producto=86A review is now available here:http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/09/17/carenado-mooney-m-20-j-for-xplane-reviewed/ If they had left the part out..........about Air Force personel banning MSFS, while endorsing X-Plane, the review would have been fine. This leaves the "uniformed" reader with the mindset of "geeze, which sim would you use?" But they fail to present the other side of the X-Plane versus MSFS debate, in which the MSFS style of flight dynamics are used in so many applications.L.Adamson
September 17, 201015 yr *Sigh* the usual bashing of FS. Really? Yeah cause it would be too hard for the reviewer to only focus on the plane!!! | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
September 18, 201015 yr Congratulations to Carenado on this release. I'd be interested in hearing from folks who have used both the FSX or FS9 and XP version. I stopped reading the review when I got to the part where the reviewer said ".......not being a user of MsFS left a big hole in my knowledge" Jeremy "rightseater" Fletcher
September 24, 201015 yr Hello !List of changes for the Carenado Mooney M20J v1.1: v1.1 list of changes:New Features:-Door closes automatically at 20 kts, and cannot be opened during flight.-3D circuit breakersBug fixes:-NAV, Morse Code, Transponder bug-Propeller Control (worked only half way with key/joystick)-Autopilot 10,000 ft limit-Autopilot Off after 1 hr-underlying electrical issues (Inverter no longer part of electrical circuitry)-lack of generator switch. Now always on when engine running-front wheel steering at low speeds.-battery amperage, consumption-Amp meter indicator reversed-Engine Idle-Prop Mass Ratio-Windmilling Propeller-Lighting of Cockpit instruments... Now independent of Landing Light, adjustable with right dimmer.-external geometry visibility (retract bay) in cockpit view.-Pitch deflection Attitude Indicator-jittering fuel gauge needles at engine off-appearance of wingtip nav lights (Transparency)-appearance of elevator rootKnown Issues:-Due to complexity of plane, it is not recommended for use as an AI plane.-FPS drop with Avionics switch. This is caused by the dynamic reflections on the spinner.Unreproducible end-user reports:-Garmin GNS WAAS Simulation and Reality XP GPS - reports of incompatibility.-"Takeoff Trim" programmed on certain joystick buttons not behaving as expected.Purchasing the plane from the X-Plane.org store from this point on will deliver the updated v1.1 plane. All other returning customers should get an email shortly. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=47757Happy flying ! :( Georges - OpenStreetMap - Ubuntu GNU/Linux -
November 19, 201015 yr Well, if it is a Blade Element modelling for the aerodynamics as they claim in the review, they'd better have some good model definition as opposed to just read tables. The 747 wth its awkward hump in XPlane will not fly correctly then cause it's drag will be much greather that it is supposed to do. Whitcomb effect.Regards
November 19, 201015 yr Commercial Member Well, if it is a Blade Element modelling for the aerodynamics as they claim in the review, they'd better have some good model definition as opposed to just read tables. The 747 wth its awkward hump in XPlane will not fly correctly then cause it's drag will be much greather that it is supposed to do. Whitcomb effect.RegardsBlade Element modelling is not a claim. It is exactly how add ons fly in x plane with some developers using read tables for a little extra artificial accuracy.Which 747 are you referring to in particular? There have been a few made for X Plane.Good model definition can also mean many things. I've heard people say that x plane has to model everything down to the rivets to make an accurate flight model. That may be true, however, not even FSX uses that kind of flight modelling.
