September 17, 201015 yr subject line: Replying to Windows XP Update to Windows 7are you saying you purchaed win7 and installed on a new HD and then installed FS9? there is no direct 'upgrade' path from winXP to win7.did you install FS9 and sp1 into the default win7 /programs directory? if yes this is BAD. win7 can/will block program function. it is best to install FS into it's own directory ... say /flightsim. be sure to turn UAC OFF.-- D. This working fine. I also had REX Extreme Flight Simulator 2004. It is blocked and I shut all active items were closed or exitied. I wrote to Flight Sim.com and have a ticket but no action has beenforthcoming from them. After 6 days it still wont answer. Flight Sim, does not have a phone number nor does the Aussies on REX Extreme.
September 17, 201015 yr It is blocked and I shut all active items were closed or exitied.if FS is in the win7 /programs directory blocking is to be expected. FS is not a win7 program and the OS sees all the gauges, dlls and other addons as 'threats to the system' and shuts them down. for this reason it is recommended to install FS into it's own custom directory ... it's own HD is even better. be sure UAC is OFF.-- D. I've been running REX 2004 on Windows 7 X64 since the day it came out with no problems.
October 2, 201015 yr I'm running on Windows 7 inside the program files and have no problems. I did turn UAC off, but have never had a program "blocked". Try re-installling and using xp compatibility in the properties area. I never had a problem with either program, so beyond that I can't offer much.
