Bob from Orbx

Featured Replies

I was looking to see if anyone has the "Bob" addon from the fine folks at Orbx? I was wondering what people like and if any, dislike which I would doubt. These Devs are so kind for all the freeware they have given the community. Thanks in advance. On a side note, it's really nice to be back here posting on the forums as FSX has given me a whole new outlook and excitment again getting back up into the virtual skies outside of the realworld. Thanks to all of you for your friendly help that we show each other here. I am here everyday, and I mean everyday. I was out of my mind when the hack took place. I am so grateful to Tom and staff for having the motivation to bring things back. Anyway, not to get off topic, let me know what you think of Bob. Have a great night everyone. :)Warm regards, Jeff Moss

I have used Bob quite a few times to explore sceneries. Its great for seeing all the detail and hearing all the sounds whilst getting a feel for an airport or town from a human perspective. On the negative side, it can difficult to control because its basically a flight model attempting to behave like a human. Thus, on hills your speed increases whilst making turning very difficult and climbing up some steep gradients is sometimes impossible, although taking a run at the hill can sometimes get you over it.Give it a whirl, it can be great fun and an enjoyable distraction. If you are a Blackadder fan, just saying "Bob" like Rowan Atkinson can bring a smile to your face :(

Me, I love Bob, too :) it's a great tool for exploring sceneries. Thanks again to ORBX.

JeffI use BOB especially when reviewing add-on airports - you see places that you've never seen before. One gripe. there is no indication as to which way BOB is facing so if PAN around when stopped and then set off be prepared for going in a direction that is differenet to what you expect!! :( A very nice add-on.RegardsPeterH
