ytack ir 5 - goodbye back in the box

Featured Replies

I have made all of the recommended settings that I have read on the tutorials and on the trackir site.A number of forum participants have offered their help; why do I have to spend so much time on this add-on?Don't the programers and the creators expect us to use this out of the box? Or is this raw software with a buyer beware? It works sometimes a little; I have never spent so much time getting some add-on to work.Yesterday it seemed to be ok if I didn't move my head, just the slightest movement made it go crazy.Today nothing could stop the gyrations, thankfully I had brought a puke-bag on the flight. I think this gadget (and it appears to be a gadget) is hopeless, a waste of $150.00, don't tell the wife, goodbye, back in the box.

And what about the 1000's of us who have absolutley no issues with TrackIR hardware or software right "out of the box". It's not a "gadget". It's not an addon. It is a piece of hardware. TrackIR has been around for quite some time and each iteration has only gotten better. Operator error ever cross your mind?Hope you enjoyed your rant.

HelloI have never had a problem with three generations of TrackIR, Totally easy to set up and use.Sounds like you have a light source behind you.But never mind, just give up at the first obstacle and have a good Rant, that is what my young nephews also do when things don't work as expected, seems the way nowadays.

Are you sure there is no light interfering with it? I use mine in my basement, I have a window directly behind my computer, if I don't remember to close the blind and fire up trackir it goes crazy. Trackir can take awhile to get used to,especially with your head movements, but this has to be the greatest thing I ever bought for my flightsimming.

Your nephews are your problem, I don't see how they have anything to do with this. When I was there age our problem was that letter from Uncle that gave us a ticket to "see the world".And we never had a rant, we just said yes sir, ah the good old days, like trying to start a C54 skymaster on a cold morning.I have been on the trackir forums with quite a few messages. Both vincent and seth from natural point have each recommended settings which are different from the settings I have had suggested from folks here.To date I have 5 different recommended settings from both forums and none of them seem to be able to control how quickly the screen flashes side to side, up and down.I tried returning the package but the sim vendor won't exchange it because "it is an opened item". This is the only add-on that I have ever had a real problem with,I have been using the MS sim since about 1988, mostly for pre-flight planning, I think it was the version 3.0.Trackir sounded like a good idea but

Hahaha I lol'd so hard when I read this, clearly that went right over your head. I also use Track IR, I did not like it at first, it got me all sick to my stomach, and a nice little headache to go with, BUT, once you configure your axis settings and sensitivities, Track IR can be a dream, I find myself using it more and more now. Man that was a funny reply, ha. Angelo
