Hi allCan I install the operating system on the Solid State Drive Drive and store all my data/program files/games on another disk. So the SSD will only be housing the OS....If yes, how big should the SSD be? 30GB enough?Eric

The OS on the SSD is the ideal way to go. As to the size, it depends on the OS and other system files. As opposed to mechanical drives, SSD's performance doesn't deteriorate as much when nearly full but if it were me, I'd go for more than 30G.Vic

Go for a 64 GBy SSD. SSD performance does not deteriorate at all as the SSD fills up, BTW.Cheers,-jahman.

Hi,One SSD for the OS and another one for FSX is the best setup you could have... Regarding the size I can say the following by personal experience... Go at least with an 80gb SSD... why?... because I have at the moment one Intel X25 80gb for Windows 7 64bit with applications like Office 2007, iTunes (library is about 5gb), PowerDVD, Windows Media Center (for watching TV), LimeWire, and 3 appz more with about 12gb free... This is a problem because:1. My virtual memory says that the recommended size is around 18gb and I only have 12gb...2. Taking in mind #1... You may have an Out Of Memory (OOM) message from FSX... I readed an article about that somewhere... That is happening to me right now when flying in heavy areas... when I had 20gb free I didn't experience any problems...3. If you use applications like LimeWire (or similar even when installed in another HHD) it creates a temp folder of incomplete downloads in the User folder in the OS SSD... so... if you are downloading large files it will take space of your SSD too until the DL is finished...4. The temp folders Windows creates when installing something and when you are browsing takes a lot of space...For those reasons I bought another X25 80gb for a RAID 0 setup and a 160gb for FSX.... That should take care of the space shortage I'm having...The prices may drop a bit if you wait until december/january to buy one...Dexter...
