October 14, 201015 yr Hi AllJust wondered what the best AI traffic program was out there for FS2004?I've only ever used freeware offerings - is it worth spending the money and paying for an AI traffic program?I like my simming to be realistic, so don't mind spending a bit of money in this area.Appreciate your helpMartin
October 14, 201015 yr Personally, I'd stick with World of AI packages (civilian) and Military AI Works packages (military) for your AI needs.Commercial packages will become somewhat out of date (aircraft and operations wise) whereas the groups mentioned do tend to update on a regular basis. Speaking as a member of MAIW, the packages are as realistic as we can make them, given the nature of military operations.Cheers
October 15, 201015 yr Good point Binnman - didn't think of the update thing.Though I'd be a bit annoyed if I'd spent £20-£40 on an add on product which never got updated...
October 15, 201015 yr Adobe AI Traffic : lots of planes, very high detailed (a lot better then any other payware traffic add-on), free

October 15, 201015 yr World Of AI is my recommendation for free and legal!!PAI is good, but not as good as WoAI, nor as frequently updated. Dave
October 15, 201015 yr World Of AI is my recommendation for free and legal!!PAI is good, but not as good as WoAI, nor as frequently updated.Would agree - WOAI is hard to beat as freeware and, in my opinion, at least as good as and in many ways better than payware AI. Having had to reinstall FS9 about a year ago, I abandoned the payware AI (Ultimate Traffic) which I had purchased previously and gone back to WOAI and am happy with it!Cheers,Bill
October 16, 201015 yr I started using Ultimate Traffic because I liked the idea of having traffic that was fundamentally based around real schedules and their forums were helpful, imformative and polite (Just like AVSIM) which brought a degree of loyalty on my part. With the emergence of WOAI, I eventually decided to give up on UT and used WOAI as the nucleus for my traffic. I then taught myself how to write Flightplans which although daunting is actually quite easy when you know how. Believe me if I can do it, anyone can. If I would find myself flying to an airport regularly, say Helsinki (EFHK) for example, I would go into Airliners.Net and trawl through all the photos of aircraft taken at that airport over the last year or so and then spend a couple of weeks creating or downloading flight plans based on everything I saw. I would repeat this procedure at every airport I flew to and before long I would have airports overflowing with traffic. It is very addictive and also very satisfying seeing traffic you have created yourself !! Finding aircraft is not that hard if you are prepared to search. Here is a photo showing traffic at Sochi(URSS) on my system. All the aircraft I found are either on AVSIM or AVSIM.RU. Most of the FlightPlans I wrote myself but again there are plenty out there if you are prepared to hunt around. Tristan Living in the beautiful Chilterns.
