Thanks Ryan!Very nice scenery :( I enjoyed your web site. Excellent photos from "Färöarna" and the other places. I saved a link to Katrin's Girlpower site - might inspire my grand children to setup a site. My eldest grand son uses one of my cameras and I guess he would love to have a home page with his pictures and other stuff. Cool!

Och så försöker jag mig på att, som svensk, framföra en hälsning till Katrin: Jeg vil også gerne takke Katrin for hendes fine site. Det vil helt sikkert inspirere mine børnebørn.

The best to you and your lovely daughters :(

Thank you Ryan. Downloading right now :(

KInd regards

Ryan, I looked at your website and all of the pictures. It disturbs me to see what looks like a whale slaughter on the beach in quite a few of your pictures. Do you mind explaining what is going on and why?? After watching the TV production of the Japanese whaling ships breaking International agreements on protecting the whales it bothers me to see these pictures. fisheye

I'm not Ryan, but I can say that the whales are pilot whales (black fish). Some info here: http://en.wikipedia....iki/Pilot_whaleRyan writes on his site that a couple of years ago the people on Faroe needed to hunt pilot whales to survive. Today the hunting of pilot whales is decreasing. EDITED: No need to be worried. Some links with information:http://www.faroeislands.com/http://en.wikipedia....i/Faroe_Islandshttp://sv-se.faceboo...615&topic=15349https://www.cia.gov/...ok/geos/fo.htmlhttp://wikitravel.org/en/Faroe_Islands EDITED second time: You may also visit WWF and other wild life preservation organisations on the net. The Pilot Whale is not a threatened specie. The hunt on Faroe Islands is not commercial.

Hi Ryan, the airport buildings are very well modeled and textured and i like the whole scenery very much, especially after viewing photos of the real islands. Many thanks for your work!Does anybody know good satellite imagery for the Faroe Islands? The parts which are covered in Google Earth are looking very interesting.

Hey Ulf thanks for clarification on pilot whale killing. It´s a never ending story. And the killing is fully legal. For satellite fotos. The only fotos is more than 10 years old and don`t cover all parts of the island. Google have it, and it is the old fotos.Same with mesh data. You can´t find data north of 60 degrees.

Ryan,Thanks for bringing such an interesting remote part of the world to life.I've spent last 40 minutes google'ing info and pics about Faroe Islands :( LLZ/DME approach rwy 31faroe.jpg

Radek
