October 23, 201015 yr I was just wondering how many people here have played or seen Just Cause 2 ?? It's basically a 3D game with no limits on movements, basically one can go deep underwater and fly miles up. ofcourse it's not a flight simulation ( yet ) but I'm impressed with the graphics capability (remember Crysis) combined with the speed of the frames. the thing I noticed was unlike MSFS which continuously processes all the tid bits all the time causing it to slow as scenery detail, JC2 apparently starts removing the details as they become insignificant for eg. if you start flying higher and higher, the finer details on the ground start to disappear and this is what happens to our vision in the real world and also relieves the computation required for that part.Only a matter of time before that engine is adopted to simulate the whole Earth and with the details of graphics it is capable of producing will kick MSFS outta market in no time... October 23, 201015 yr Hi Bhaskar, Never heard of it until now. Looks sweet graphics wise. I seem to always think of FS when I'm playing new releases and wish they would adopt some of the newer engines. Especially when it comes to terrain draw at distance (LOD). I think about it all the time actually. Hopefully they will with FS Flight. At least something new should be DX11 (maybe 12) capable. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
October 23, 201015 yr It's a fun game, but it gets boring after a little while! Image Coming... KregE | B757/767 FO
October 23, 201015 yr Commercial Member That technology is called LOD and FSX actually does do it - autogen and stuff like that disappears as you climb higher - terrain mesh loses detail the further you get away from it etc. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
October 23, 201015 yr Haha, I don't think Ryan read my responce, and no I did not edit it :( i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier

Looked like a mission (pure speculation, of course). Felipe Andrade at SBSP
October 23, 201015 yr I saw that webisode and found it a bit underwhelming. Except the volumetric shadows on the Stearman there was like zero difference to FSX. Let's hope the improvements will not only be graphically in nature. I have a dream that one day we'll have sloped Runways, a realistic weather model, ATC... *sigh* "A life is like a garden. October 23, 201015 yr I seriously doubt we will see anything major in these webisodes personally. What I mean by that is even right before launch I think the video's will be a few steps back in a lot of areas for what we'll see in their eventual main Trailor,,, I actually think a lot of companies do that sort of stuff :( i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier

October 25, 201015 yr The Granadines Scenery from fly tampa has sloped runways, if they did it it means it can be done on fsx.See yaI have that scenery (all of FT's actually) and it is a cool thing they did, but make no mistake it isn't easy and the things that go into a sloped rwy in fsx doesn't work the way one would want, infact there are limitations in fsx on theirs. Little things like lights disapear into the slope etc... but anyway, they did a great job on it. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
October 25, 201015 yr I own Lukla X by Aerosoft which was one of the first products to feature a "sloped" runway iirc. Sloped runways don't really work in FSX. Touch down too hard and you will fall right through them. The contact point system of FSX isn't exactly cut out for such endeavours either. I had my aircraft flipping on the back on more than a few occasions. "A life is like a garden. October 26, 201015 yr The MS Flight webisode sounded like the training flight. The graphics looked nice, and I think I heard some ATC background chatter that sounded more realistic, but so far, nothing worth getting worked up about.
