That's a pretty cool airport. I watched a small feature about that airport on TV a few years ago and was hoping that someone would do a version of if for the sim.Aerosoft just recently announced that they are doing it and that should be available by the end of the year. Not sure if there will be an FS9 version though.http://www.forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?showtopic=39923&st=0&p=265019&hl=+mountain%20+air&fromsearch=1entry265019

Doesn't actually look that tough to land at, in fact it looks like good fun, the runway is pretty long from what I can see of it. That said, if you slew off the runway with a burst tyre it could get messy with all those trees. As someone who has flown into and out of a hill-top strip a lot (not to mention landed on a golf course once LOL), I'm surprised the approach is so flat, although I'm guessing they add plenty to the speed on approach in lieu of that, as it did look to be going pretty sharpish from what I could tell and it looked more like they flew it down rather than actually stalled it onto the deck. Into the wind with the terrain dropping away at the threshold is a recipe for a serious wind gradient as you descend, and a fairly serious curl over too, which could see you undershooting. Normally when I do that kind of malarkey, it's with a pretty steep descent through any potential wind gradient and curl over, with lots of extra speed on the clock, followed by a fairly lively flare to bleed off the speed, and you usually end up floating quite a way before the thing decides to stop flying.Be interesting to see that strip in FS so long as they get the terrain right, and it'd be even more fun if you used Active Sky to model the wind gradient on the approach with some interesting vertical air movement. Anyway, it'll be good to see another fun and challenging strip in FS, to go along with places like Toncontin, which is my favourite for that kind of 'rack it around' type of stuff.Cool video, cheers for posting it.Al

Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

I've flown into there a couple of times! First time in a Cirrus, the second in an A36 Bonanza! I had to taxi to the very edge to feel comfortable for takeoff. VERY fun but not for the faint of heart (Al's right though, it's not that bad)! Also a very private field... I'm glad someone pointed out this place. There was actually a terrible crash there several years ago involving two separate aircraft in the same accident. Coincidentally I believe it was a Cirrus and a Bonanza. One of the aircraft was on approach and screwed it all up, balling it up into the other aircraft that was taxiing.
