A330 V2 pulled from Avsim

Featured Replies

Hey guys. At our request, the A330 V2 files have been removed from Avsim's file library. This is due to a little dispute with Eric Marciano. We will be rereleasing the A330 with no VC but with wing views soon. I have to figure out what to do with this mess. Hopefully, I'll learn to make my own gauges to use with the VC and then we can release the VC version. Sorry about this folks. I felt it was the right thing to do given the fact that Eric was upset with us.

That's sad news Sherv !!But i'm loooking forward to the non VC version :)....Keep it up bro !Stian

That's bad news, the VC looked good.I was am however struggling badly to get the panel set up though, so hope this will solve the problem.

I'll download a non virtual cockpit model, I never use the virtual cockpit anyway.

It's not the end of the world! :) My PC is woefully out-of-date, so a "no-VC" version can only be good! :)

That's really sad!! A freeware quality heavy with a VC was/is needed, plenty out there without VCs. I am a VC flyer only and I am actually flying heavies now that I have a VC, thanks!hope you get this worked out, I would comment, but don't know all the facts, but seems funny to be argueing, oh well.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com

This is a real shame. I hope that Eric and you can work something out so all of us can benefit from this wonderful airplane.

Sad, but this why I download new releases IMMEDIATELY! Disputes in the freeware community are not uncommon :(

I'm glad I already d/led it too. Its really sad, a lot of people really don't have the community in their best inerest, just themselves.

That is such a grossly unfair statement to make. Eric has programmed and released MANY fine freeware add-ons, none of which he has ever charged a dime for, to the best of my knowledge. When I first dowloaded his radar gauge, it was part of an F-16 package and relatively obscure. I was so delighted by it, I prepared a stand-alone package that would make it easy to install the gauge in any fs2002 panel.I contacted Eric, showed him my work, he made many good suggestions and authorized the release of the package, as long as it remained FREE. Now that package has been used extensively in many, many freeware releases. And although I speciy in the readme for the package that I prepared that Eric is the sole programmer and I only assembled the package, my name has becomed attached to that gauge as wellto some degree. I have never heard of Eric complaining about that, even though I am NOT, nor was ever part of its creation/programming.In all of my dealings with Eric, he has been courteous, friendly, and always willing to provide authorizations for freeware use of his creations. I have absolutely NO knowledge of the rift between him and the POSKY folks, but I personally know what Eric's track record is, and I chide you for posting and passing judgement in apparent ignorance of the individual in question.I have my notions as to what the problem is here between them, but without firsthand knowledge, I would be a downright fool to pass judgement on either side like you did.If you do have first hand knowledge then you should justify with evidence the kind of villanous remark you made.

Alright no need to change this into a shouting match. I just posted this message to make everyone aware of the situation. I didn't want to leave anyone wondering why the A330s were removed from Avsim. I'm not going to disclose the details of the dispute here. No need for that.

This is an excellent and informative post. It is unfortunate but electronic communications such as these forums encourage us to post quickly which often we do so without thinking through our initial reactions. I'm certainly guilty of this.I've followed freeware since the very early days and have always been impressed by the great work done freely on behalf of this community.bf

Eric is unhappy with a certain aspect of how his own contribution to this project was handled, and clearly POSKY are now trying to put things right. No one is "wrong" in all this, it just hasn't worked out. Eric says his piece on his own website. I am sure everything will be resolved in due course as we're dealing with good guys all round.
