FPS limiter limits nothing

Featured Replies

Mine doesn't have the closing quotes either and mine works fine. As a matter of fact:start C:\"FPS_Limiter\"FPS_Limiter.exe /r:D3D9 /f:30 /x:ON /l:OFF "E:\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exeI don't have closing remarks after any of the underlined parts.

I'm using dx10 preview, and also have fps in the high50s/60s so tried returning to dx9 to see if this was why the limiter wasn't working. For some reason fsx crashes when I load it without dx10 preview on now so I don't know if that would fix it, but give that a try maybe?

FPS Limiter seems to display fps on what ever window/GUI 'had focus' i.e. was on top, at the time FPS Limiter checked to see where to display the fps. So, If CumulusX (I'm a glider driver) module got focus as the module launched FPS limiter will display on CumulusX's interface, not on FSX's. If I want to see my FPS Limiter generated fps, I have to show CumulusX.As I understand it, FPS limiter doesn't impose a maximum fps limit ("maximum 30, and don't let it go any further") it will allow fps to go over the limit but somehow seems to 'govern' it so as to produce a very smooth display, expecially noticeable when using TrackIR.gilderdriver

Before it stopped working on my setup, if I had FSX setup to unlimited, and to show FPS on screen, then it could be clearly seen with the FSX counter (red text) that it NEVER exceeded the limited value. Now however, when using the bat file, my fps often go up into the 40's, and I don't get the 'smootheness' I use to get.Clearly, it is not working, yet the bat file is correct. :(

Hi,I also had the balls to update directx and still FPS nowhere near 30.So I think I am going to rename the exe "fsx.exe.limitnothing.exe" and it will work according to its name.

Are the people who cant get it working on nVidia or ATI cards?

ATI 5870 and it won't work. It gives a green 16/17 or 19 - or something - five or six numbers plastered on top of each other as the "Free Flight" starts, , but there is no red number 30 on the right side. The batch file is correct. The quote marks allow the use of spaces within the command line. It's no big loss, though as BoJo's fixes make the sim very useable.

ATI 5870 here. It worked, at least I had a green readout of fps in the top left, and now I don't see that anymore. I want this to work, because when it does I think it makes for a very smooth display.I wonder, does FPS Limiter have to run with the same core affinity or priority as FSX?I use CPU Control to set affinity, and have FSX set to run on cores 1 + 2, (dual core cpu) and FPS Limiter to run on Core 1 only.gliderdriver.
