Hi all again!My md-11 will not load,cold and dark or any other flights for that matter:( I have uninstalled and reinstalled but no joy, what em I doing wrong? PLease help :(

Full names in this forum please.Do not use a complex aircraft simulation for the default aircraft.FS9 or FSX?How are you creating the cold and dark flight? Are you using the default panel state or creating your own?

Hi Dan! sorry ,what do you mean by full names?I start with the md 11 default in fsx ,then I go to menu,addons pmdg panel state load cold and dark,but it reverts back to default mode.Thx,Sixxer

I still can't figure out why I'm not able to load "cold and dark!"I open fsx,pick the md 11freighter,then I wait till it initializes go to menu go to addons then go to panel state then go to load "cold and dark"and the md 11 is still at full engines and full power when it returns to the screen:(I hope someone out there will be able to help me hear:)Thx Sixxer,axa James!

Windows Vista/7?If so, it's probably User Access Control.Basically, right click on the Microsoft Games folder and select Properties. In there, security tab, and on that tab, there is an EDIT button midway down on the right side. Click on the edit button and in that new pane click on the Users group and down below, check the Full Control option.This setting basically tells Windows to allow other programs to make changes behind the scenes. Otherwise, some programs won't be able to make the necessary changes in the background, even if you tell it to do so.

If your MD-11 is a certified aircraft from PMDG, then if you download the MD-11 service pack from PMDG you will find that it will now work normally just as other aircraft.  When you have installed the MD-11 service pack you will be able to use the pulldown menu and there will be the various setups including cold and dark

Didn't you notice the AVSIM warning about opening old threads when you found this old topic?

 

Now that you have opened it:  You can only load those defined panel states after first loading the MD-11. It would be nice to be able to load the sim already in a saved state, as you can with the NGX and 777X.  The 747X loads cold and dark if you have a cold and dark default flight set up.  That trick does not work with the MD-11, which loads fully powered, engines running regardless of your default flight.
