December 7, 201015 yr Hi allPleased to say that I have ordered the Flight Manuals for the 737NGX. I am having them shipped to the UK at vast expense. I then realised after ordering that I may have to pay additional fees! Please could anyone who purchased the MD11 manual from the UK let me know if you had to pay anything additional?- Fees - I am prepared for these import fees payable to Parcel Force. No way round these.- Duty - I think its about 2 or 3% - is this payable on the manuals?- VAT - I understand that books can in certain circumstances be zero rated and not subject to 17.5% VAT - does this apply to the manuals? Thanks all Rob BatesSimming since the age of 10 with MSFS 5.0 P3D v5.0 | 10700K (@stock) | EVGA GTX1080Ti SC2 | Z490-E ROG STRIX | 32GB 3600MHz | 970 EVO Plus M.2 & EVO 850 SSDs | H115i cooling | NZXT H440 Case | Samsung 32" CJG 1440p Curved Monitor | Virtual-Fly Ruddo & TQ3+ | Thrustmaster FCS Sidestick | Skalarki MCDU Ask me about (my most flown): FSLabs A320-X series | MaddogXIn the hangar: Majestic Q400 Pro | PMDG 747 | A2A C182, Cherokee, Comanche & Spitfire
December 7, 201015 yr I did buy the MD-11 manuals some time ago, but I cannot for the life of me remember whether I got charged import tax! I'll have a dig through my receipts and see if I can find any evidence. As far as I remember, I didn't pay any VAT or Duty. I'm hoping this is the case as I've just ordered the Chief Pilot's set. December 7, 201015 yr I have been looking on the UK customs and excise website and it states that manuals, ring bound / books are exempt from duty and VAT. However, if the manuals are for commercial purposes I.e. Going to be for a real pilot then standard rates apply.Let's hope they understand they're for pretend flight not the real thing.Chris Farrell Chris Farrell

I envisage some horrible protracted arguments with them otherwise.....Cheers Rob BatesSimming since the age of 10 with MSFS 5.0 P3D v5.0 | 10700K (@stock) | EVGA GTX1080Ti SC2 | Z490-E ROG STRIX | 32GB 3600MHz | 970 EVO Plus M.2 & EVO 850 SSDs | H115i cooling | NZXT H440 Case | Samsung 32" CJG 1440p Curved Monitor | Virtual-Fly Ruddo & TQ3+ | Thrustmaster FCS Sidestick | Skalarki MCDU Ask me about (my most flown): FSLabs A320-X series | MaddogXIn the hangar: Majestic Q400 Pro | PMDG 747 | A2A C182, Cherokee, Comanche & Spitfire
