  1. Does the 737 have ATSU? ACARS would probably support it.
  2. Couldn’t agree more mate, we are very lucky at the moment! But let’s see. PMDG have been at it for a long time and they’ve promised some nice new features in what will be a brand new EFB that will be used across the whole line in MSFS, so let’s see. I agree though, the Fenix EFB is incredible and it will take some beating!
  3. Correct. Those 68000 are used for reliability, not for high speed complex calculations. They run autopilot logic. There’s a lot of them for redundancy, not horsepower. And yes the A320 is a more complex plane than the 737, fact, but not that much more complicated in sim terms.
  4. There is full Simbrief compatibility with the 737. It was made very clear from the start that the core aircraft would be released and a new EFB would follow shortly after including all of the wonderful quality of life features similar to the Fenix. What you bought was a beta - a bit like how DCS release aircraft. Sounds like you didn’t quite get that if you’ve shelved it already.
  5. Haha, and you just proved my point. Go on then, list them. What…? an EFB Lol. It sits there doing nothing most of the time and probable takes zero cpu cycles whilst doing it. And the whole point of this discussion is about it running someone else’s code. If you’re running 3rd part code you have no control over it and therefore cannot optimise it!! It’s code written to run across multiple networked PCs. Not on one cpu thread with the sim.
  6. Yes it is. And I quote fromMr Randazzo: "This is not a "port" of an existing product, which is why we changed the product naming a few months back. We had started out referring to it as "NG3" but NG3 was originally envisioned as a port of our Prepar3D version into MSFS and it became obvious to us in September of 2020 that porting the product would give you an inferior user experience. Microsoft Flight Simulator, when it finally arrived, offered such a magnificent visual environment that it seemed we would be missing an opportunity to do something truly wonderful if we simply dragged the 737 "as is" into the new environment and handed it off to you." Why is the 737 any less complicated? Granted there is no automation to model, but it has custom LNAV, VNAV, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and FMS to model. It’s about as complex as it gets in MSFS to date. And it’s all don’t without the need for an external program (running someone else’s code) Don’t get me wrong, I love both aircraft. I just find it amusing when everyone thinks the Fenix is some kind of wonder aircraft that no pc can run due to its “complexity”.
  7. Please try it at EBBR or EGLL and then report back with your fps. With respect, I completely disagree that it is well optimised. It’s good, but not great. That fact that the 737 can run butter smooth on most machines at any payware airport is evidence that it is far better optimised. The Fenix runs on Prosim, so there are bound to be optimisation issues that are out of their control. The PMDG was written for MSFS from the ground-up.
  8. Ok good, I get the same. It’s ok to post post performance figures, but one thing the Fenix (unlike other addons, PMDG etc) seems to be heavily dependant on is higher detail payware scenery. EBBR and EGLL are my default areas for benchmarking as they will affect it the most.
  9. This is what I don’t understand. I have very similar specs to you (only 32 GB ram) yet I’m getting less performance. My test was at EBBR though. Try it there and then see what you get! (Assuming you have the Aerosoft payware version…)
  10. What’s the best way of getting the most out of both in this situation?
  11. No real increase for me, sadly. It does feel smoother though. Weirdly my cpu is running at ~30% load and my GPU is at ~50%, yet I’m only getting around 30 fps 🤷‍♂️ I just don’t get it. CPU is i9 10900k and GPU 3090.
  12. Did anyone actually get to use the experimental version with positive results?
  13. Then it's not that then Try setting your frame rate to something other than 30 exactly (eg 32) and fly a default plane with no addons. I think there are some combinations of (v2 incompatible) addons that aren't helping.
  14. Limit your frame rate to something higher then 30 e.g. 32 or 33 (read the LM forum for an explanation). Try setting your TrackIR priority to High in task manager. These two things pretty much eliminated microstutters on my setup, which is very similar to the OP's. Some have reported better performance with the latest Nvidia driver, although this may not sort your microstutters, it could be worth trying at some point. It made a big difference on my setup, running Orbx Global and various UK2000 Extreme airports.
  15. I found that setting my TrackIR priority to High in Task Manager pretty much eliminated all of my microstutters.
  16. Good news. Mike, do you know if they are going straight to v2.1 or is it more likely to be v2.05? I haven't been keeping track. Hope this doesn't end up like FSX. It took them a year to get the first patch out! LM seem to be on the ball though at least.
  17. Just read that it doesn't have a proper FMC (no SID/STARS) so I'll wait and see what reviews it gets. The Metroliner is looking like a good option interns of something different.
  18. I seem to be getting better results having it locked, but I have it locked to something slightly higher than a round number (as suggested by LM, in order to minimise stuttering). I usually use 32 or 33. Oddly I got better results in FSX on unlimited, but as we know, they are different beasts. I have nothing locked in Inspector with regards to frame rate. There are so many variables when setting up FSX/P3D2 that there is little wonder that we all have varying success with drivers etc. Sometimes I think it just comes down to pot luck!
  19. Same here. I can now fly UK2000 EGLL Extreme and it not go below 20fps using a certain 737. Getting much higher frame rates in other, smaller aircraft.
  20. Yeah that sucks, which is why I'm not buying into it. I'd rather wait 3 years for PMDG to bring their version out. Anyone tried the Caranado B1900D? It's supposedly v2 compatible.
  21. Anyone tried this out in P3D v2 yet? It looks immense.
