Hi,

Just read on L/M's forum, they are still on track for an end of month patch release.

Good news.

Mike, do you know if they are going straight to v2.1 or is it more likely to be v2.05? I haven't been keeping track.

Hope this doesn't end up like FSX. It took them a year to get the first patch out! LM seem to be on the ball though at least.

Hi,

I've heard stories of both a 2.05 as well as a 2.1. I don't know... Guess we will find out in a few weeks, would be nice if its 2.1 with SLI capability.

Its going to be 2.05. Its seems they are fixing a lot but don't forget there is an awful lot wrong with it!

No doubt about it that this was a seriously premature release of P3D V2. But that I suspect is by design!

Lets face it the flight sim hobbyist community is LM's broad scale beta tester for what is a product that is in

development for Military training puposes. Just goes to show that FSX was way way beyond a video game!

Not that there is anything wrong with what they are doing we  the hobbyist are likely to benefit. I uninstalled V2

a month ago. I will re-install when the patch is released but on my system with X-plane 10, DCS, AeroflyFS, P3D V2 and FSX

FSX is still King. If it is still king after V2.05 remains to be seen but that is where I would put my money if I where a beating man.

Having said that, provided it doesn't all blow up into MS suing LM etc. etc. no doubt it is just a matter of time before P3D V2 is king

But just wait and see if your PMDG NGX for P3D V2 costs less than $200!

From what I have seen of X-plane 10 lately it is still the dark horse in this race!

Thank you Arwen, that is good to hear... or read

Despite some wobbles I'm happy to stick with P3Dv2x...

You're welcome. :)  I've been keeping a close eye on that thread, as I'm looking forward to this patch.

I'm most definitely staying with P3D2, and it is working very well for me (despite it's bugs and quirks). I spent the first two weeks or so messing around with the sliders (and getting some OOMs), but once I found a good compromise, I haven't touched them (I also haven't had any OOMs since).

The only addons that I've installed are FTXG and A2A's Piper Cub. I'm currently waiting for the P3D2 version of Active Sky Next, as that looks like it will add what I want in the way of weather, but I also would like to find something that would improve the default ATC (without it being overly complicated, since I just fly small planes and helicopters).

I've also found a sweet spot that I am extremely happy with. And with the release of FTX AU SP4, I can explore the land down under while I patiently wait for PNW v2 compatibility.

p.s if you've purchased any of the AU regions in past you get all of Australia at no charge.

Thanx Orbx for the freebie

By the sounds of it 2.05 will only be a patch. Meaning a full download and reinstall will not be required?  On previous versions they mostly put out full releases but if they've moved to releasing patches that come out more rapidly I'm all for that.

FSX had 2 service packs and was still loaded with bugs that never got addressed...wish MS would have done that as well.

May I ask what autogen settings you are using?

I don't think you will find anything for that use… All ATC add ons I know focus on airliners. For GA default ATC is still the best (as I posted a while ago also  ^_^ ).

True. LM decided to release actual patches for P3D v2 instead of new complete versions.

I downloaded and installed FTX AU SP4 and immediately got OOMs every few minutes… I was using autogen at Very dense but it's just impossible to do so with FTX regions, apparently. Using a default plane like the Acclaim helps (instead of the A2A C172) but even then I get an OOM every 15 minutes or so. Lowering autogen to Dense seems to solve this but I can't say I like the looks of that… I am used to Extremely dense autogen in FSX! Now I am willing to go to Very dense in order to being able to use the new popup free autogen system, but Dense is one step down to much for me...

Certainly, all my settings are posted in this post.

I know, and I have looked, without finding any . . . but I'm still looking for a replacement ATC.
