Home cockpit and the NGX (new modules)

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I just ordered some parts for my home cockpit setup so I'll be posting a few pics when the stuff comes in.

So far, i've been using the CPFlight MCP & EFIS with the NGX and i'm loving it. I just ordered the Flightdeck Solutions AFDS panel w/electronics and also the MIP Board from CPFlight to connect everything together.

If anyone has experience with that module/board used with the NGX I would be curious to hear your comments on them.

Thanks

Chris

Hi guys,

I received my MIP737 board yesterday and should be getting my AFDS from FDS today. I will plugging it in (hopefuly) this afternoon. I will let you know how it went since i seem to be the first one using these modules with the NGX.

Hi Chris - please post some pictures of your progress as I'm very interested in upgrading to these parts in the future. What are you using for your MIP? Fly Engravity or FDS perhaps?

Good luck with the build.

Hi Ed,

I will for sure. I received the MIP737 board from CPFlight. It's already installed. I am currently still waiting for the AFDS to arrive. Peter from FDS told me it should be here on Monday or Tuesday next week.

As for your question, I will be building a MIP out of MDF and using the FDS panels on it. I am building the MIP structure myself to save some $.

If you do a search with my user name will be able to see my current setup. I posted a video of it. I don't have the link at the moment.

Thanks

Chris

Hi guys,

I finished setting up my Flightdeck solutions AFDS plugged in to a CPFlight MIP737 board. Almost everything worked right after doing the wiring. The only thing I'm having an issue with is the common for the test switch. The FDS AFDS seems to only use one common wire for both the push buttons and the test switch and the CPFlight board seems to be expecting a different common wire for the switch and the push buttons. I'll figure it out for sure. I tried a flight with the NGX this afternoon and t he LEDs worked as expected along with the push buttons. So far, so good :-)

Merry Xmas!

Chris

Hi Chris,

I'm in the market for an MCP and EFIS for my home cockpit build as well. I'm curious as to why you went CP flight over the FDS units. Was there some drawbacks or missing functions with the FDS units? Did you get the Pro MCP or the EL version?

Thanks

Hi Chris -- how does the CPFlight MIP737 board interface with the NGX? Is it by FSUIPC? I have read the manual but it only details support by PM Magenta.

How do you go about programming your hardware buttons?

Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering

I'd be interested in the previous posters Q too, I am about to pull the pin on CP FLIGHT MCP PRO and EFIS anyone lee use it it looks great and should work for T777 as they will provide SDK as far as I'm aware.
