  1. I meant to say "keep buffer pools at Bp=o and water=6, or adding a pool size and lowering water to 2xlow
  2. Rampage IV extreme. I lowered my core back to 1.42. It was at 1.46 since I was playing at 5.0 a while back I'm torned between keeping polls @0 or changing the tweak and adding water to 2xlow. 2xhigh is a killer and I don't even like it
  3. When I bought this chip 18 months ago it was the best in the planet. Soon it will be a T-Rex. Processors are like the tires of your sports car, the more you enjoy the car, the more often you need to replace the tires. Thankfully, a top notch chip cost only a fraction of a set of 4 Potenza racing tires. Nico Thank you for the response. I already installed the new ram and when ran under xmp profile my os wouldn't even post. My mobo has 8 slots and does support 2400. But since I'm no guru, I just lower the clock to 1866 for the ram. Nico
  4. I have a monster memory kit still sitting I. The box because I change my mind between the time I ordered and the time it arrived. I figured it probably wouldn't make a difference to overclock memory via xmp. Corsair dominator platinum 32gb (4x8) 2400mhz 10-12-12-31 Should I install it? Nico

  6. That is true. But only if I were posting to advertise that my PC runs very stable with fsx on ultra settings. Which I'm not. This is not a stress test. This is a mere case study that shows other simmers with similar hardware a way to get 30fps without blurry scenery and without flickering. And the way to do this is by not using any traffic. If you like to fly a 738 replica cockpit like I do, then you should be more interested in flying manually from point a to point b and performing SEL and other failures. Not so much the added eye candy of being 5th in line for takeoff. Nico
  7. You are correct to an extend. I dont use a VC, for the most part, but that is a misleading statement. Because, The CPU has no NGX but intead it has to swallow all of this: Prosim 737 Prosim 737 MCP Module Prosim 737 Audio Module 1 Prosim 737 Audio Module 2 Prosim 737 CDU Interface Flight Deck Solutions CDU software Other 3rd party addons to compensate for the lack of realism in the sounds of the Prosim flight model (which is amazingly simulated in the NGX). So basically The CPU gets a big workout. But I have never had any issues with overheating or the 3960X bailing out on me. I will tell you this: Give it enough Vcore and it will deliver. Also, I do "per core" overclock because of a simple reason: The temperatures are much better and I have FSX running only in the fastes cores while less demanding apps run in the slower cores (which are still 4.80GGG!!!!). I do the same test with the latest Carenado HD series aircrafts and with their VC (which is not NGX but is pretty demanding) I get almost the same results. The only difference I make is I download REX 3D clouds in 2048 format (instead of 4096). Since I see more cockpit and less clouds, is no real difference in realism but makes all of the difference in FPS (locked at 30, never below 28). When I use my cockpit, the entire screen displays texture and clouds, so is better to have the largest files intalled. but when I fly a VC, is not any different. I hope I answered your question. If you need some assistance tweaking your BIOS and/or Titan please reach out to me! Nico
  8. I wanted to share my rig with you and the results I'm seeing after manytt test flights... I seem to have found the "right" settihngs for my system: First, the RIG: I7 3960X running as "per core" in the following config: Core 0 & 1: 5.0G Core 2&3: 4.8G Core 5&6: 4.7G Intel HT set to off. So only 6 cores. Vcore Voltage @ 4.2 BLCK: 100 (Default) GTX Titan Configured in the following way: Power target: 102% Temp Target: 80C (set this to prioritize the temp... you'll see why in a sec) Clock Offset: +100 Ghz Memory Offset: 0 Fan Curve (very important): Adjust fan curve to the fan runs @ 85% (max) when the card is above 40C. Why do this? Many tests have shown that the Titan is a very efficient overclocker when kept cool. So if you indicate that you want to priorize a temp target of 80C and keep the card cool... it will automatically push the envelope since FSX is not able to push this monter to extreme temps. Relevant GPU tweaks: PoolSize=0.... that's it!! Harddrives: 3 SSD 256G each. One for the OS, one for FSX and addons and one for cockpit related software and REX Cooling & Other Hardware: 120MM Cooling System 3 Addittional fans to suck out the heat from Video card and CPU Corsair AX1200i Digital 80 PLUS Platinum Modular Power supply ASUS Rampage IV EXTREMEM mother board And a whole buch of other stuff..... alkl addig up to a total of USD 6,000 FSX Results: Software used as test flight: KBOS to KJFK, departing @ 7:30PM in order to cruise during sunset (very demanding as sunset reflects off the HD clouds) and land in KJFK right before night time. I chose a STAR with a vector over the Hudson river and into LGA, then turning to CRI (canarize) radial for a visual approach into JFK 13L (my alltime favorite). The reason for this approach is: To fly over Aerosoft Manhattan X scenery as dusk, to fly over Imagine Sim KLGA add on (very bad FPS despite its poor quality add on) and then to fly over Queens with UTX lighting and a sharp turn @ CRI VOR over the High water textures with high wave animation...... and then land in FSDT JFK 2.0. I flew this same route about 10 times over the course of days to get exactly the right settings..... I believe this is the most demanding situation my machine will deal with while flying FSX. Other Software: I use a full cockpit (737NGCockpit.com) with all of Prosim modules running and Pro ATC x along with OPUS weather engine (set to maximum size). Settings used: REX Overdrive set to 4096 3D clouds and 2048 HD Cirrus, 1024 wave animation ALL Sliders maxed out except for light bloom and traffic (I dont like to introduce traffic yet, so I dont have any perf hit from traffic (yet)). I do however, have highway traffic through UTX along woth full night lighting (intersections and rural streets). I also have running the following: GEX NA, UTX NA, Mega Scenery Earth New York My FSX.CFG tweaks: Poolsize=o Highmemfix=1 Maxtexture=4096 Texture Banwith Multiple=200 (this is ok for photo scenery despite what you read in forums) LOD_Radius=7.5 (also ok as lonf as you have photoscenery) Max FPS = 30 ForceVSync=1 Wide aspect view=True Inspector Settings: 8XSQ 4X Sparse Grid Supersampling AF=application controlled AF= 8X (16X just makes the scenery too blurry) Vsync to 1/2 refresh rate I have FSX in a 80 inch Pioneer Elite HDTV set to 1080P. The results: I get FPS between 29.50 and 29.9 during the entire first phase of the flight. FPS drop (as expected) to 27.5-28.5 while getting close to the hudson river (where you see the sun reflected on the beautiful water and Manhattan lights and sunset reflected on buildings.... truly amazing). FPS come back to 30 as soon as I circle around diffferent aircraft views. Another FPS drop happens during the hard left turn over CRI radial.... FPS drop to 26ish. As soon as I pass the Brooklyn yard into the final phase of approiach, FPS back to 29-29.5 range. All is good until I park at the gate facing Manhattan and combined with the HD textures of FSDT and Manhattan X (since my LOD radious is just high enough to see the full scenery loaded ffrom the gate). When parking brakes are on, FPS is steady @ 25-27. THE END This is what I achieved after getting terrible results in the same situation many times. I'll say PoolSize=0 was the beginning of tthe great hunt for performance. Temperatures: Max CPU temp is 65C but high 50s durring the majority of the flight Max GPU (GTX Titan) temp: 60C.... even though I have it set to a target og 80C... the GPU is pushing hard but the full fan speed keeps it nice and cool. So the Titan keeps sucking up all the HD scenery I throw at it (with very high leevels of AQ I may add). Im very pleased with these results.... and I officially closed the tweaking chapter and I WILL not open the FSX.CFG file anymore and I wikll not change anything else. On a side note: I have FSDT PHNL along with MegaScenry Earth Honolulu and all other Hawaii islands in HD photoreal scenery. I also have Aerosoft Hawaii airports vol 1 and 2 and I love doing the island hopping with 737-800 (Jetstream AFM from Prosim).... PHLI-PHNL-PHKO-PHOG-PHTO.... these flights are probably FSX Nirvana! And my FPS does not drop bellow 29 during the 5 hoiurs it takes me to do all these flights from gate to gate... These are my test and observations. I hope I helped and inform a few.... Thank you for reading and thank you in advance for your comments! Nico
  9. What if I mannualy add the planes via Flight1 airport editor tool?
  10. Question: I DO NOT want to add MY Traffic or any other traffic add on to my sim.... I have it fully loaded of add ons and I dont want to mess it up or take a performance hit. However, when I arrive at my favorite airports in North America.... Im the only plane there (I have all traffic sliders @ 0%). So all the gates at the airports bellow (all add ons) are empty gates.... 1- All FSDT titles 2- All Fly Tampa titles 3- Some Imagin Sim titles Is there a way that I can permanently park different livery planes at gates so when I arrive I see a fuller airport? I DO NOT want them to move or have scheduled routes... I just want them to sit there and look pretty. Any advice on software to do this?
  11. I'm at a point In which everything in FSX is working perfectly and I'm looking for the extra spice. So I need your advise on 2 things: 1- default fsx ATC - although I give credit to FSX for a great ATC platform, I would like a more interactive and less robotic ATC to talk to. Are there any addons that make ATC better and more interactive? For instance, ATC assigning differ departures and SIDS and not asking me to climb runway heading until FL110. 2- is there a way to get airports looking more busy without the added performance cost of air traffic addons? I would like airline liveries parked in different sections of each airport but not flying around and wasting resources. In other words, a very advance static aircraft add on I. The large airports. Thanks for your input. Nico
  12. Yes, I have the OC start panel. But I haven't hooked it up yet. Still looking for the right place to put it since I don't have an overhead panel. I will PM you once I have the script. Nico
  13. MIP and all CP Flight hardware is hooked up via USB from the CP Flight MCP... all other components are connected to MCP via daisy chain. The MIP is interfaced with the CP flight MIP board. I have the latest FSUIPC registered version. But how could I map the flaps if FSUIPC doesnt recognize any movement from my TQ? Maybe Im missing something.... but I can set up flaps detents in a way that my FSC TQ flap and spoiler lever will interface with NGX?
  14. Hello, I recently finished my dream project (www.737NGcockpit.com), please note that web site is not updated with most recent progress, but will soon. Everything is working great. BUT I have a few issues that need to be fixed: Before I start withe the issues, I mention an important point: I have both PMDG 737 NGX and Prosim 737. Everything works flawless with Prosim. But Since I do not have an overhead panel yet, I want to enjoy my cockpit with the NGX plane, their airfile, and panel, and outside views, lights, liveries (get the point? I love the NGX!) 1. Flight Illussion Gauges: They look great, but with absolutely no functionality. I tried Callibrating them but with no success. A. Flap Gauge: There is no correlation between what actually goes on with flaps in NGX and the readings in the gauge. I tried callibrating but I just dont know what each flap detent value should be in the Config software. Anyone knows of a link to how to fix this? B. B737 Indicated Airspeed Gauge: This thing is hopeless!. Ever since I nfirst plugged in the gauge, the nbeedle went to the max (stopper @ 400 kt reading) and has shaked ever since. I tried but I cant get this thing to go down to 60 kt and stay there. Any help? Looks like the gauge doenst knoe that cant go over 400 kt... and keeps on trying! C. All other Flight Illusion Gauges (B737 clock, attitude, digital altimeter and yaw dampner work perfectly without any calibration needed). 2. Flight Simulator Center non-motor all metal TQ: This thing is absolutely stunning! but only if you use the default 737. Otherwise, with the NGX I can do everything (i.e. keyboard emulation keys for TO/GA, AT dissengage etc) but the flaps and speedbreake dont work. I spent soooo much time and money to AVOID using "F7", "F6", and "/" during decent and apoproach! But is not working. The FSX driver that came with TQ has a config and calibration that eworks. But I cant seem to get the axis of the TQ recognized by FSUCIP. So I dont know how to "tweak" this thing. Any ideas?

  19. Im having issues with EVERY ONE of the FS Dream Team Airports. I Land on rwy 31L of JFK without the runway number on it. The taxi ways and grass are all mixed in. And every time I get close to gate to park, the terminal building disappears. So all Im left with is a plane parked with all workers around it (GSX) but no terminal... just floating jetways. The problem is that in the FS Dream Team support forums all I read are people with this same problem and sarcastic (borderline) rude responses from the support staff. So Im trying to avoid that. Any ideas??? Otherwise the FS Dream team airports become worse than the default ones.....
  20. I will post pics and videos as soon as I figure out how to do it. I feel like Im not pushing my hardware enough.... which I guess Im too afraid to run an unstable system. But I have turbo boost @ 4.4G and OC RAM, OC 680 and I get 30 FPS under the most maxed out confitions (on a clear day wiith AI 0%). I am waiting to get confortable with overclocking 4.7-4.8G before I add traffic and bad weather.... after all, I have the best liquid cooling money can buyu.... my system @ 4.4G has a temp peak of 55 deg!
  21. Thank you for the great list! I see you left out FSDT for airports.... did you forget or for some reason you dont like their stuff?
  22. I also run 6.5 LOD. As long as I remember to change or back when I go to settings in fsx. Nico
  23. NGX 737-800. And 16x AA for virtual cockpit... is actually pretty sick
