I9 7900X clocked PER CORE @ 5.1 (Cores 0 & 1), 5.0 (cores 2 and 3), 4.8 (all other cores).

64 Gb DDR4 RAM clocked @ 3800 MHz, 3 X Titan Pascal in non-sli. 2 x Koolance EXC 800 external chiller (one for CPU and one for 3 GPUs using Koolance bridge)

Only question I have is; Why is your ram running @ 1333? You need to go into your BIOS, and correct this. Run a series of MEMtest86+ tests after making changes, to ensure it is stable.(error free)

As for your CFG file, there is lots of good advice on the fore-mentioned website, or inside the AVSIM tweaking guide.

Regards, Craig.

I have a monster memory kit still sitting I. The box because I change my mind between the time I ordered and the time it arrived.

I figured it probably wouldn't make a difference to overclock memory via xmp.

Corsair dominator platinum 32gb (4x8) 2400mhz 10-12-12-31

Should I install it?

Hi Nico,

You have a great CPU, with a decent overclock, why not install the 2400mhz, and let that CPU/GPU combo stretch it's legs. Running @ 1333mhz is bottle-necking a great combo. Firstly, I would check with your motherboard manufacturer, to see if your board supports 4x8 sticks of ram. It is worth noting, that some motherboards struggle with overclocking,(ram speed) with all 4 memory slots filled. (assuming you only have 4 slots)  If your motherboard supports 2400mhz, I would certainly give it a try. The difference between 1333mhz and 2400mhz is significant enough to warrant the effort. If you set up your bios according to the timings/voltage written on your ram modules, you shouldn't have any issues. I would also try running the 2000mhz ram at its rated speed, just to compare the 2, and see which set gives the most stability. Stability is the key word here, as speed is useless, if it gives errors during calculations. Good luck, Nico, and keep us informed on your progress.

Regards, Craig.

1.46v?   I'm not extremely familiar with that exact CPU but I'm pretty sure 1.46 is really high for Ivy Bridge... perhaps someone else can confirm?  I think Intel's max recommended is 1.4v

Then again if you build every 1-2 years it's probably not a big deal.

When I bought this chip 18 months ago it was the best in the planet. Soon it will be a T-Rex.

Processors are like the tires of your sports car, the more you enjoy the car, the more often you need to replace the tires.

Thankfully, a top notch chip cost only a fraction of a set of 4 Potenza racing tires.

Thank you for the response.

I already installed the new ram and when ran under xmp profile my os wouldn't even post.

My mobo has 8 slots and does support 2400. But since I'm no guru, I just lower the clock to 1866 for the ram.

Ryan makes a good point about voltage. 1.46v is high for that cpu. Have you tried the 2000mhz sticks of ram? Set the timings and voltage manually, in the BIOS. Just in case the xmp profile is corrupt. You may have to reduce your CPU clock in order to get your ram to run stable. By the way, which mobo do you have, Nico? x79?

regards, Craig.

Rampage IV extreme.

I lowered my core back to 1.42. It was at 1.46 since I was playing at 5.0 a while back

I'm torned between keeping polls @0 or changing the tweak and adding water to 2xlow. 2xhigh is a killer and I don't even like it

I meant to say "keep buffer pools at Bp=o and water=6, or adding a pool size and lowering water to 2xlow

The most important thing you have forgotten is an affinity mask setting!

You will notice that if you set it in the fsx.cfg your performance will increase dramatically.

However, I would not go with the earlier suggested settings by MrChrsrider  , as those are for a quad core cpu, and u have a hexa core!

You should turn of hyperthreating in your bios, and then set this at the top of your fsx.cfg:

[JOBSCHEDULER]
AffinityMask=62
